Is there no sort of approval rating for in game choices or interaction? Everyone just automatically loves you? Because yeah that'd be annoying, but I do like the idea of my player being able to sleep with or romance anyone. Still bitter my lady elf couldn't woo Cassandra.

I'm so spoiled for difficulty settings I wish we could "set" the romance level. Either Regular/Low/Off or toggle which NPCs are interested in us just because turning people down can be uncomfortable.

Except there are no female characters who are completely traditionally masculine. None. They all have at least one traditionally feminine trait. Yes, I do think some people see femininity as weakness. But some of us just want to see some fully masculine women.

Buffy-like women who are badass and also super feminine are awesome. More of those. But also more masculine women, please.

It's not about masculine vs feminine traits. It's about it dudes still want to fuck her. As soon as she's not attractive, dudes will be screaming about how she's too masculine.

She doesn't even need to have typically masc traits. Dudes were crying about Aloy being too masculine because she has peach fuzz on her face. Like a human being.

TBH Yeah...it's weird. I never noticed how messed up people in general perceive masc/femme traits in women until I was in my mid 20s.

I worked in packaging production at the time so I thoroughly enjoyed that I was forced not to wear makeup or heels (due to cleanliness and safety reasons in my place of work) after having to wear "business casual" attire at the various offices I worked before that job.
Wear my fandom tees and jeans with my hair up in bun with sneakers 40 hours a week? Fuck yeah, I can sleep in before work.

Jump cut to me going out to a bar with my coworkers as a goodbye party for a coworker leaving the company and people couldn't stop talking to me about how pretty I was.

Like, people were in complete disbelief that I could wear a dress, put on makeup, have nicely styled hair and look ultra femme.

And even to this day...like...do people not see women as full human beings???

No matter your gender, age, sexuality, etc....every person is capable of masc and femme traits?? Respect how they want to be addressed, but don't treat a woman as less deserving of softness just because she's butch???

Yep, this is a general phenomenon. Whenever you have a overclass and an underclass, membership in the overclass is very contingent on removing any visible signs of the underclass. Even "one drop" (especially in the racial case, but also applies to gender) often disqualifies you from membership in the overclass. This obviously is terrible for men as any deviation from masculinity is seen as bad/lower/deviant and punished, but it affects how women are seen and interpreted too, where even a small amount of femininity in women is latched onto and considered way more important than any "masculine" traits that person/character might also have.

It also affects what people consider to be "androgynous" -- I've definitely noticed that "androgynous" often means wearing men's clothing and hair styles, but with a more "pretty" (or "feminine") touch, not the opposite way around (wearing women's hair/clothing but with a "buff" or "masculine" touch). The second someone wears a dress/skirt or high heels or styles their hair in what's considered a woman's haircut, they are considered outright feminine, not androgynous. "Gender neutral" in society means "not female" because the overclass (male) is "default" and femininity is "deviant."

To be fair, there are trolls around. Sometimes it can be difficult to determine which is a serious secret and which is a troll secret. Maybe something serious gets misinterpreted as bad or hostile when it's not meant to be. All that's taught me is that I have to be either specific or so vague the secret's bland.

But of course, then people will complain that there are no *spicy* secrets and that F!S is dying. You can't please everyone, and you won't always have a good time. There are a lot of different fandoms and different people, each with their own opinions, so it's a mixed bag.

I used to write, journaling and fanfic mostly. And back in the day I used to have fun messing around in photoshop - nothing fancy, just fun making icons or photo editing. I realized lately that I don't really do any creative hobbies anymore so trying to get back to it but it's harder than I thought it would be.
