Oh, FFS, asexuality is about not experiencing sexual attraction. Libido is a completely different thing. There are aces who have high libido, just as there are allos who have low libido. Perhaps try educating yourself before going on rants.

I wish I understood this better. I guess it's hard for me to "get" someone with an active libido not being attracted to a beautiful (and other ideals...nice, funny, whatever) person who's attracted to them. I'm not asexual, but I'm extremely picky about the people I actually have sex with/desire.

Demisexuality makes some sense to me. It's just hard to comprehend never being sexually attracted to anyone ever.

I get that but I'm not sure why anybody who's not asexual would be interested in sexual activity in fic where one of the people doesn't care for it or doesn't feel attraction.

I feel like this is hard to argue with, because if you say sex isn’t that big a deal for you, people can just say you’re ace too. Personally, my sex drive shut down when I was really sick, and even though I’m healthier now, I don’t feel like I need to add sex as a part of my life.

Like... as an ace, I enjoy ace/allo ships, and I enjoy ace/allo ships *where the characters have sex*! Not all aces are sex-repulsed, some are sex-positive. A LOT of aces *enjoy* having sex with the partners they love, they just don't experience the same kind of desire, but they are FULLY capable of enjoying it as an activity that makes their allo partner happy, and fully capable of experiencing physical pleasure when the ball gets rolling. Hell, aces are capable of *starting* that ball rolling when with an allo partner!

Apparently, I have thoughts about this, and I don't know why. I'm not asexual and I don't generally read these types of fics.

First, if the fics aren't being tagged correctly, that's a tagging problem. If the fics are being tagged correctly, that's a scrolling problem. (The root of both of these problems can be either ignorance or arrogance.)

Second, yes, sex does matter a lot to a lot of people, but not everyone. And since fic is fic, a character having an idealized reaction is pretty common, especially in romantic situations.
