For me it's "fine," but I think it's more of a translation issue. It's very common in one of my historical/fantasy fandoms to see "Are you fine?" when what they mean is "Are you okay/alright?" I would much rather see "okay."

Same!! Ngl, sometimes when it comes up in fic, if the fic is good and I wanna read it, I mentally replace it with "All right".

I'm probably guilty of that - but only because I get worried of using 'alright' too much and make an American based fic sound too British.

For me it's "snuck," especially in historical fiction. I do understand it's a word that dates to the 19th century, but it still feels modern and North American to me. I recently encountered it in a novel about Agatha Christie's disappearance, in a chapter that was supposed to be her diary. The word does not appear in any work by Christie, where she would say someone "slipped out," not "snuck out." It was one of a number of issues that reminded me the author was North American, and made me feel like she hadn't actually read much Christie before writing a bovl about her.

I think it's because I know when and how "O.K." came into usage so if I see it before the 1840s it's out of place.

Like, you can physically French kiss in a world without France but please don't call it that.

True. But it is also true that it is okay if people like parts that you hate and think those parts are actually really good.

I've never really been quite as hooked on Sam as a lot of people are. I dunno why, but...he gets on my nerves.

I love that scene in terms of Sam. But I do think the score was a little too on the nose. I feel that way about quite a bit of the score. I know it is loved, but for me it is one of the weaker parts of those movies.

I mean, I love that scene, but I also am completely incapable of separating my love or hate of ANYTHING in the LOTR movies with my love of the books. The result is that I have an unreasonable amount of hatred for the way movie!Faramir is characterized in Two Towers in particular, while also fist pumping an insane amount when I see a great Sam speech that ties his and Frodo's journey to the rest of the Fellowship's journey in a way that wasn't possible in the books. I have 0 objectivity on this lmao, even when I can tell that people might have legitimate problems with something from a filmmaking perspective if it scratches my book-loving itch hard enough.

Well, I don't think you're going to Score Tonight. How can you not want to be a Cool Rider or a Girl for All Seasons (ah-ah-ah)? How can you express this outrageous opinion and not have everyone wonder Who's That Guy? You probably wouldn't even Do It for Our Country, but I guess you can't Turn Back the Hands of Time. I think for most everybody who likes this ridiculous movie, We'll Be Together on this.

But really, there are a lot of ludicrously catchy songs on the soundtrack, no matter how absurd they, and the movie, are.

Scary Game Squad just released Part 1 of their Signalis play through. For once, I'll be able to watch them play a game that I have played (highly recommend it). Just don't know if I want to watch it now or wait for all the parts to be uploaded.
