Both The Fall and Memoirs of a Geisha have amazing costumes. Game of Thrones also had some amazing outfits (both elaborate and simple).

Lord of the Rings. Rings of Power. Star Wars prequels. Legend of the Seeker. Honor Among Thieves was cool. Game of Thrones.

The animated costuming of ATLA is great.

Moulin Rouge is Baz Lurhman's opus grande in all spheres but especially costuming.

As creating an independent worldscape goes, Fifth Element.

Well-documented awards to Star Trek and Star Wars but lbr my favorite parts of Trek are Luwaxanna Troi and the Ferenghi. I have the big hardcover book of ST costuming and it says most of DS9 was the costuming department and Armin Shimerman going "YES" to everything so I'm eternally in love with the aesthetics.

I wish I liked more historical costuming both eastern and western but there are so many personal hot takes that are demonstraby ill-informed that no amount of sparkly embroidery can turn my head anymore.

Anything costumed by Colleen Atwood. And of all her work, Sleepy Hollow is my fave. That spider web dress omfg.

Kevin Can Fuck Himself. I love that they actually dress like it's cold and that you see characters wearing pieces in more than one episode.

It's a bad movie, but I still love the costumes in the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland movie.

The LOTR movies had beautiful costuming. And though I don't rate GOT, there was some gorgeous embroidery work in that series.

Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing this weekend?

It is about to get super cold here in OK so I'll be inside most days. I finished my first story of the year (Camp Damascus, highly recommend), so I'll be taking a break from reading. Will probably play a ton of Fortnite because Godzilla is out. Otherwise, trying to learn how make GIFs using Gimp.

Resting and relaxing. I've had a super stressful week and feeling a little down on myself. Just need to do some self care. Not sure what other than lots of kitty time. And finding something hopeful to watch.

Building Lego. My dad gave me the Titanic set when it first came out because he didn’t believe me that I didn’t want it. I’ve been picking away at it for three years and need to just hurry up and build it. I have this fear he’ll die before I finish and then I’ll forever feel guilty because he asks about it every time I see him. I usually enjoy building Lego but not such a giant set and especially not one with so many teeny tiny pieces :(

Tomorrow I'm helping my mom out with some stuff because my dad will be at a work conference he can't get out of. I'm not looking forward to venturing out into the cold but at least my parents live close by. Sunday I plan on staying home and relaxing because next week is going to be kind of busy.

Another weekend cold snap here, too. Enjoy your indoor activities. Do you have Monday off?

I'm gonna try to dig out from under a mountain of assignments. And catch up on laundry. Might do some browsing at Ross and Dollar General. I love digging through the mess of notebooks and planners at DG. Aiming to cook a big chicken casserole Sunday. Might splurge and make baked spaghetti, too. Crazy week ahead, so I'm gonna need leftovers.

I've got a 3 day weekend, and I'm going to my grandpa-in-law's farm tomorrow to help him out with some chores. After that, a bit of shopping and catching up on fandom activities - the week didn't give me a lot of free time, so I want to make the most of it.

Errands tomorrow, since we're going into the deep freeze starting on Sunday, and staying there through much of the week. I'll be mostly indoors for that.

Need to do some errands and try to get sleep (work annoyed me on a Friday evening enough that I didn't get much sleep). Maybe try to catch on some media (there is a new Severance episode, yay!)
Also as always planning to going to couple of galleries and another architecture tour :'D

I actually don't have any plans. I do have a couple of books that I should finish. Eyes of the Demon is a collection of Predator short stories that I'm halfway through. Then there is Monster Manifestet by Bo Eriksson about monsters in mythology and pop culture.

But I'll probably end up reading fanfic and watch edits instead as usual.

This poor woman's idea of an "incredible boyfriend" is a guy who has managed to reach adulthood, but doesn't know how to wash his ass or armpits properly, or use deodorant or brush his teeth without being told to do so. He also doesn't do basic household chores unless she tells him to do it. On the bright side, he doesn't cheat on her and he buys her flowers twice a month, so he's a paragon among men!

It's possible this woman is making everything up, but... this isn't exactly groundbreaking stuff. A depressing number of men have terrible personal hygiene and are lazy bastards about household chores when they have a woman to do it for them. Remember that if you date a man, don't lower the bar on your own and end up with a giant man-baby toddler with a dirty ass and BO who doesn't do the dishes. Respect and love yourself.

I have an incredible boyfriend who I know would do anything for me. He is a great man, no social media (aside FB), doesn't entertain other women, doesn't hide his phone, faithful; a provider, a hard worker, and wants a family with me. I feel lucky to have a man like this. We've been dating for about 7 months.

However, I find myself having to ask him to do things that shouldn't have to be asked. For example, over the past few months, I've had to ask him to shower properly (I discovered he wasn't washing his ass or his armpits well enough, lol) & I would have to ask him to put on deodorant, brush his teeth, get his clothes off the floor, things I feel like I shouldn't have to ask a grown man to do. Today, these things aren't much of an issue anymore bc he has mostly corrected them. I still have to ask him if he put deodorant on or brushed his teeth, often which the answer is no...
