Yeah, I’m more a fan of the books than the show, by a huge margin. I'm still watching it, though not in hopes that it will change or get closer to the books. I just consider it fanfiction where I don't agree with all of the author's choices.

Yeah. I am, unfortunately, incredibly easily influenced on things like internal narrator voice so I've avoided watching it because I love the books as my brain interprets them. I've read the series numerous times over and don't want them to change (or ruined).

I do hope the series does well and people enjoy it!

The key is to pretend it's an unauthorized in-universe fictionalization of Bharadwaj's documentary. It really helps. (There's already a few good fics on AU where the book characters encounter the show as an in-universe adaptation, if you need help sustaining that belief.)

I think I didn't like the books enough because I am enjoying the show. They are different, but I am having fun. But probably because I do not remember most of the plot and I hate constant parade of new absolutely bland faces in the books even if I understand the narrative choice. Probably I should make my own secret :'D

I feel your pain, though not on this particular book series/tv series. I was really into the Wheel of Time books, and I could not get into the TV show at all because none of it matched what I had in my head from the books. This is why if I read the book I tend to avoid the TV or I try to watch the TV show/movie before I read the books.

I'm lucky in that I see them as completely different stories. I like the tv series for what it is and I love the books for what they are, but in my head they don't really crossover one with the other. I think it helps that what I really like the most is, as usual, fanfic.

same tbh. I also like the minis but a) am not sure I want to lay down the kind of cash needed to build a proper army and b) like figures across all the lines which means what I would find fun to paint wouldn't necessarily work as an army or even a warband.

I wouldn’t downvote but the context of the post would influence how I interpret answers like that. If the post is a question and the titles are complete answers, then it’s fine. If the post asks for people to list specific things, then it’s fine. If people are asking for broad recommendations, then simply giving titles usually isn’t a complete answer and wouldn’t take those recommendations into consideration unless they’d been recommended by others with justification of the recommendation included.

That's a fantastic story about an explosively hot love affair that brings down a low-life and liberates both main characters from him with courage and intelligence while gaining a boon in the process. And it's a female-centered take on the classic noir type films like Double Indemnity where there isn't really anyone to root for. It's a classic. I say be proud of liking it and consider yourself a red-blooded human being for finding it hot.

This secret made me melancholy for some reason... without context I can't say if you're holding yourself back from fun out of shyness, or if you've recognized a potentially dangerous trait in how you get when you drink, and taken care to avoid it. Either way, it sounds a bit sad to reflect on.
