Oooh I'm curious about what this means! Steven Universe was a show that on paper should have worked for me but in practice really really did not. I liked Gilmore Girls back in the day but was always fully aware of the bits that didn't work/were annoying.

I only know Gilmore Girls from overhearing/passing by whenever my mom watched it. She loved that show to bits.

But it was a complete mess. Especially when Rory left for school. At that point pretty much all the characters were completely insufferable. So I have no idea what you're trying for here.

so the only visuals of her at her present age I've seen were ads for a show I assume was some kind of Sex and the City spinoff (was it??). I didn't find her ugly but something about her still trying to look exactly like that character 20 years ago, and not that-character-but-20-years-older, was unpleasantly off-putting. like, acknowledge that you've aged visually even if the character clearly hasn't aged emotionally.

She looks fine, imo. I do prefer her with her hair down, but I liked the dress. Every red carped picture out there makes everyone look awful because of the flashes.

Hardcore can technically be relative when it comes to closed groups like that. They're 'hardcore' because they spend 15 hours a day (or whatever) on this game, have their own standards, and commit to them. It doesn't necessarily have to be an overall scale on how everyone else is doing for them to expect their group to match a set amount of effort. Let alone expect them to equate to the best/better teams overall.

What's interesting to me is your use of terms. About how you could break the news to "my team", but you immediately switch to 'them', or 'their team' when it comes to criticizing them for not being good, or worldly enough.

Smoll delicate Jaskier with his curly hair in fic drives me batty. I have been in fandom a looooong time and the need for people to make one character (and we all know which character that will be) small and delicate and have curls is still annoying as it was in the start.

I can give some leeway if people are going book or game canon, but I've honestly only seen this in specifically tagged "Witcher TV" fic.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

We are supposed to get a lot of rain and I'm excited for a gloomy weekend and eating some kind of stew with bread. Other than that, just plugging away at my games. They all seem to be having some kind of event right now! I also have 2 chapters of one book, three short stories of another, and 4 issues of a comic to get read by Sunday.
