Look, OP, as someone who occasionally streams... Would it be nice to make it a steady source of income? Of course. Is it realistic to expect it? Hell no.

The truth is that hundreds of thousands of people worldwide livestream, but only a minuscule percentage of them gets the luck of making a living out of it. While I can appreciate this streamer of yours' wish to make a living out of it, they also need to be ready to accept that it might not pan out.

On your part, you are not obligated to provide any monetary support; nor should you feel guilty for your inability/unwillingness to do so.

We're are all trying to get by. If you cannot afford to throw money at a streamer, then you cannot afford it, and that's the end of it.

I have several streamers I love watching, but I can normally only watch the VODs on Youtube later. Stream time doesn't line up with my availability.

And you know what? All of those streamers have one thing in common. "Hey Youtube! Thanks for tuning in, appreciate you being here, if you have a chance it'd be fun to have you over on Twitch, but until then, enjoy the VOD." And then during the stream itself there is never an (active) push for donations/bits/subs. They are acknowledged and appreciated when they come in. Sometimes there's a specific sub drive (one guy I watch usually does one game a week where chat's donations lead to some kind of difficulty challenge activating in the game or adding a new twist, or sometimes just "hey you have to get up and do 50 jumping jacks now") just to incentivize. But that's not everyone. Not all streamers are gluttons for punishment for their chat's amusement. But sometimes.... sometimes that's the key to having an involved audience who wants to keep coming back and actually give you money.

Being on screen and constantly asking for people to sub is not that.

I have seen such varied reviews of this book. Half the people seem to love it and the world and half the people say it's trash. I have it on my TBR and I'm interested to see where I'll land. Though tbh it's pretty far down on my TBR pile so who knows if/when I'll get to it.

Honestly, whenever I see a lack of continuance, let alone that scale, my bet is that it's made by AI. I know nothing about this series or how it goes, but my opinion is that no writer can honestly be that oblivious when it comes to the world they build. Even, and especially in any decent fic, would that ever happen.

I watch a movie one that I couldn't finish because it disturbed me to such a great degree. That being said, I would absolutely never watch it, any scene, or clip, or resolution, from it in my entire life.
My advice is not to look at thing you already know you dislike.

As a short-term solution, maybe you could change your phone's ringtones, so you can maybe separate your responses. I don't know how much it will help though, every time I hear an alarm on TV or wherever that sounds like the one I used to have to wake up for school, it's panic-inducing (and I have been out of school for decades). Also, if all radio ads and songs for the radio could NOT have any siren sounds in them, that would be great.
