Mm, yes, it is too much to ask. And honestly boggling. I cannot for the life of me understand the fangirls weeping themselves stupid over every slightly bad thing that happened to Kurt earlier in the series and condemning any character that even looked at him the wrong way, yet this is apparently acceptable and hot. Writing someone a free pass to act like that because they are gay is a shitty, shitty message to send.

Anyway, I have read somewhere that Chris Colfer himself is not for this pairing because it hits too close to home. I've also heard that Klaine is the pairing RM decided he wants to get off to.

I found Light in general to be oddly sympathetic, even though what he did was abhorrent. I always thought his character was intended to inspire mixed emotions like that.

This. I was in a fandom for a long time where a lot of fans were in their 30s and 40s, and even the younger fans I was friends with tended to be my age or older. Now, I'm getting into another fandom, and have been a bit surprised at the number of people around my age and a little younger (that is, "college" aged).

I like having people in fandom who are a different age than me, though. I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" age.

I just ignore what I have issues with. Most of my issues have nothing to do with sex, so it's easier to avoid them lol. But my point here is that if something is on a public forum, being discussed, like happens on this comm sometimes, the people who don't like whatever kink is being talked about should be allowed to talk about what they don't like and why, just as much as the people who do like the kink are allowed to talk about why they like it. Neither side should be allowed to shut the other up, nor should either side be allowed to be rude about it, because both sides have an equal right to their opinion and to express it.

This. I'm 20 but most of my close fandom friends are 30-45. And I have few responsibilities beyond school, while most of them have kids and jobs and whatever. You'd think we're really different, but we think so much alike and get along so wonderfully.

I think those of who were in our late teens in the late 90s were just at an awkward age for the internet. We were at the tailend of the newsgroups/mailing list generation, but before the explosion of social networking sites. And because of that, we'll always be in a weird place online, if we were online regularly in our teens, because we "grew up" in a very different internet than people even 2-3 years younger than us.

I agree with this, though I'm not a Klaine shipper (the only Glee pairing I like is Brittana). There are some Kurtofsky shippers who glorify the sexual assault/bullying aspect of their relationship, but that is only a part of the Kurtofsky fandom. A great deal of Kurtofsky shippers are interested in the pairing due to the dark nature of it, so they deal with that aspect and are honest about it.
