Me too, kind of? I mean, I absolutely love both the books and the movies, but I kind of wish everyone would shut up about it.

I don't see it as "ending," though. Harry Potter will never be "over" to me. I just like it to not be so everywhere all the time.

I do as well, possibly because I'm mean-spirited. Frankly, I just want the fandom to die down a lot so everyone who's been shouting "HP WILL NEVER DIE, IT'S THAT GREAT OF A FANDOM!" will get to see that yes, once the material stops, the fandom gets slow as hell. Even for HP. :)

Fucking goddamn DH part two gave me stress induced hives from the emotional exhaustion. I've never had hives before, I'm not allergic to anything, so it was pretty fucking upsetting waking up this morning with crazy hands (over-stating it. It was alarming, but once I knew what it was, it wasn't too horrific).

But on the ridiculously awesome side, my doctor's literal orders were to re-read the book series, to remind myself that 'it will never truly end.' She wrote it out on a prescription pad and everything (along with some lotion stuff, but whatevs). My doctor's fucking awesome.

I am too. I feel an urge to be mean about it, but I see how much enjoyment my friends have gotten out of it and don't really want to shit on their squee. They're not the books/films of my generation (I'm too old, really), and I was never into them. Glad it's going to be over and fade into the background like most any other fandom (and it will). It's time for something new to come along.

I'm glad it's ending, too, and I've been a fan of the series since I was 10 years old.

It's run its course, it couldn't last forever, and I came to terms with that in 2007. If some people aren't over it, then they missed the point of the series: Harry and the gang grew up. That was what the story was about (with some evil wizards thrown in).

Same here. I went at midnight with a group of friends and we had a lot of fun, but I'm not a huge fan. I never read past Order of the Phoenix because I lost interest, and I get the feeling that not liking Snape makes you some kind of plague.

Some of my friends were appalled when I said I was bored for a lot of it (which I was. It took forever for characters to actually say things we already knew) and that I still didn't like Snape. I had to listen to half the theater cry about him.

It was far from a perfect movie, though the more... excitable fans tend to try and convince you otherwise.

I still like Hermione, Ron, and Neville, like always.

my favorite part was the very final scene before the epilogue, when the trio is standing together on the bridge. Lots of meaning there, that I've never heard anyone mention yet. Reminds me of the scene at the end of Twilight Princess, where Gannondorf, Zelda, and Link are all standing on the hill in the mist.

I didn't make it past reading book five. While the series is good, I never understood the global obbsession with it. I've read other things that I think deserve even half the attention Harry Potter got.

So yeah, I'm a bit glad it's done as well. It had a good run but I'm ready to talk about other things.

I'm not really glad or sad that it's over, I'm just over all the people yelling "OMG... HP is OVEER, and so is my LIIIIFEE!!! WHAT WILL I DOOOOO NOOOOW!!!" >.<

And I also hate that it's supposed to be a representation of my generation (yes, I'm in the Potter generation). Thing is, I read most of the books, and watched most of the films growing up, but just never really liked it or thought of it as anything great (I think Mum was a much bigger fan than I ever was). If something HAD to represent my generation, I just wish it was something better than Harry Potter (those lucky Star Wars people).

This fandom has been a huge part of my life for over ten years, so I'm sad to see it go in that regard. I don't mind that not everyone is as passionate about it as me, but I get tired of people like "OH SHUT UP ALREADY". It's just dickish and rude.

Yeah, but just think of how horrible it will be once the Twilight movies are over. I'll be glad to see them gone, but you KNOW there's going to be a shit-ton of fans crying about how their life has no meaning any more.
