Um, sorry, but sexual people can use bi-romantic too.

Sexuality and romantic appreciate are very different things, as most asexual people will be quick to point out that one can exist without the other.

If you insist that you are asexual and then deny that sexual people can have emotional feelings towards a person of a gender that conflicts with their sexual orientation, then you are contradicting one of the key concepts of asexual relationships - namely that love can take place without sexual affinity or desire.

gotta give this a 'this!'. Though I know we're hijacking a point of your post instead of focusing on the brother/sister love - as a female I can and do deeply love my friends that are girls while only being interested in sleeping with guys. While I can understand that some women can't connect emotionally with other women on deep levels, I'd really hesitate to treat it as rare or unique. Do I NEED to drag out all the girls stick together deeper than sisters movies like Joy Luck Club and beyond to show it's an easily identified theme?

Yay, a Borgias secret! I just finished watching this yesterday.
The little S!B in the corner caught my eye. I don't really like incest (but I can stand it), but I feel that they way the did Lucrezia and Cesare's relationship in The Borgias was fantastic. There was so much sexual tension between them, especially in the earlier episodes, that was not over the top.

Can't wait till the second season~

Tbh, OP, I'm not a fan of the pairing mainly because it's been pretty much concluded by historians that the incest rumors were started to slander the Borgias [because those two were considered abnormally close at the time - which basically means like modern day siblings iirc] as opposed to their actually being any real incest

No pretensions here, I really believe romantic affection, friendly affection, and sexual interest all separate things that can thrive without one another.

If amiability, concern for one another, and sex was all that was needed for a romantic relationship, then the concept of 'friends with benefits' would be redundant and useless. You can fuck someone, care deeply about someone's well-being, and find them engaging in conversation without feeling the unique sense of fulfillment from them that you get only from a romantic relationship. Also, the very idea that functional open marriages exist is argument against lust + affection = romance. The reason people with open marriages choose to get married at all is because they have ideally realized that while they are okay flirting with and having sexual relationships with multiple people, they only have romantic feelings for each other.

Point being, romance is not Hollywood hot 'n heavy obsessive bullshit, sometimes it's more subtle and personal and has nothing to do with sexual attraction.

I'm transmale, homosexual and so is my partner. We do not have a sexual relationship currently due to body issues and not being particularly attracted to either one's birth gender but I love him all the same. When I informed my parents that our relationship is not sexual in nature, my stepmother said "Oh, well then you two can help find each other boyfriends!" This offended me because it implied that all of the work we put into being together and growing together meant nothing because we didn't knock boots.

I've had plenty of really close friends, I've had several sexual relationships, and I've had three romantic relationships. They are all different and as an adult, I really resent that people here imply that people like me are too dumb or emotionally immature to realize the difference after having experienced a variation on all three.

Sorry for being snippy but the ignorance here sometimes just astounds me.
