Because sometimes people are in pain and need to share, and just can't with anyone in their real lives, so they try and get it out online to work through it.

Most of the Transformers fans who'd be paranoid enough to start second-guessing who they have on their flists because of this secret don't even visit f!s anymore.

I could understand if someone was consistently being an asshole, but yeah, these yearlong grudgewanks (usually over some personal slight, not even something serious like, I don't know, racism or something) - I just, how do you even keep track of it for that long?

[identity profile] epouvante.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
heh heh you seem neat, OP, he was cool

(Anonymous) 2011-09-13 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
But most people are not shipping that version. Not to mention, a random AU that Marvel threw out one year where one of them isn't even the same person anymore doesn't make it canon in the main storyline. Therefore, still fanon.

I mean, c'mon. I ship it too, but that's reeeaaaally stretching it.

and I love them (except for Sam)

Nah, most of us will just keep on reading our sickfuck robot porn.

While thinking of you. :)

I don't mind her-- I just wish she'd stop singing.

On the one hand, maybe. But on the other...you have totally seen those anon-stalkers following certain users around, I know you have. Wanting to avoid being tainted and taunted forever because of one comment that might come out wrong is practical, not cowardice.

a more talented third wheel. i think she'll be okay.

Wow, this has been the week for chance run-ins and surprises. Maybe Rise isn't as obscure as I think! Nice icon by the way.

Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed it didn't get past 60 episodes - I loved that it poked fun at itself, and I thought the humor was well-crafted. I guess all the guest voices took its toll. But I don't know much about the business world - maybe ratings weren't rolling in high as the producers wanted. A similar thing happened to Class of the Titans - only the first 13 episodes were released on DVD.

I really liked it when she wasn't the sexy popular girl. :/ But that's just me. Liking my female characters to have a little, you know, diversity. Disney just gave up on that, though. Now they pump out oversexed little teenagers by the dozen.

[identity profile] oflittlebrain.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
misogyny wtf are you talking about? why would there be women in this comic, what would be the point, it is GAY PORN

what annoys me about this comic is... i guess the updates are pretty slow so when there's a plot section it just seems like it's taking FOREVER. and the plot is fucking boring and dumb and all i want is gay sex. i mean i know it can't all be one big sex scene but i wish it was.

And how do you feel about people using sockpuppets? :)

A username does not an identity make.

Love this movieeee!

[identity profile] oo-no-oo.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Wonder if he regrets making the movies. Now he has sloppy old housewives and tweens drooling over him.

Man... I can never get these things to do what dark's did... I'm LJ incompetant. But click on it anyway if you want good music!

+3. That's totally dickish.

Hi. A Japanese here checking in to say we don't all hate you, honestly. Korean stuff *is* actually very popular.
But you are right that this is a developing problem. Like people above are saying, most of the anti-Korean stuff comes from a very small minority of right-wing racists who should just be ignored, but there is a danger that their thinking can spill into the mainstream. They always frame the issue as an "us VS them" thing, and young people in particular are receptive to that (e.g. about how TV supposedly prioritises Kim Yuna over Asada Mao etc). Kids generally don't like to be told what to like. It could become "cool" to hate Korea or something. But I think chances of that are slim since the current situation is really just a kick-back response to hanryu being so overpoweringly popular. Sort of like Justin Beiber in the US.

Wait, what? What's going on? I've completely lost touch with Shortpacked/Walky and Joyce/It's Walky Universe but I need to knooooooow ;A;

(Anonymous) 2011-09-13 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Are you talking about the online fandom on the west? Because it's apparent that it's very popular in Japan. I mean, Christ, they're showing the final episode in theatres all over the country and having a special event, and that doesn't usually happen for any show, let alone a six month old series.

[identity profile] myrasis.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
So you are more excited about a sequel to a game that you genuinely enjoyed and were entertained by (presumably) than a cinematic RPG that employs the illusion of choice too much? Well damn. I get that Mass Effect is the more... popularly "acceptable" choice of things to be excited for, but this isn't much of a "omg my friends will disown me!" secret. Or at least, it shouldn't be.

[identity profile] insanenoodlyguy.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mike proposed to Amber.

With tape of her mom having sex. Digitally Edited to sound out "Amber will you marry me?"

The man having sex is her next door neighbor who had a huge crush on Amber herself and was a recovering sex addict so Mike arranged for her mom to be at his door at the worst possible moment. Then recorded it for said marriage proposal.

I'm guessing you don't understand much about Japanese culture then? They aren't avoiding you because you're black (well, some might be), they're avoiding you because you're foreign and they don't want to be "confronted" by you with something they don't understand (e.g. a foreign language they don't understand, a question thy can't answer, etc).

I'm white and it's very common for people to avoid sitting next to me on public transport, or move to another seat when I sit next to them, or to "politely" turn away and pretend to be busy so that I don't speak to them.

It's not that they're trying to be rude. They just don't want to be shamed in front of someone who is ~different~ by not being able to understand you. It's a part of the whole 'Japanese pride' shtick.

No problem! Hope you enjoy the series :Db
