I think the muggle-thing can work. I read a newspaper this summer where the reporter - failing to see 'the magic' in rollercoasters - concluded that she must be a muggle because of it. That's a good way of using the word, if you ask me.

I'm white and I've had people cross the street or switch seats to avoid me. In my area, it really does seem to be sort of generalized racism against all foreigners as opposed to any one race getting it worse.

It's one thing to spend money on something new. It's quite another to spend extraneous amounts of money on something new and turn around and bitch about how much you spent on it when you don't like it. If you want to spend $50 on a box set of a series you've never heard of, go ahead, but when you could've bought them one by one or second-hand for far cheaper, bitching about it makes you look like a moron.

Anybody who's concerned about how much they're spending on something new should do some research before purchasing anyway. That's just common sense.

This whole thread sort of amuses me, because I can only think of RPatz seeing this and going, "Well thank God not everyone's creaming their panties over me!" Y'all seem to act like he wants to be The Sexiest Man Alive when really he'd probably prefer if he didn't have to lock himself in a panic room on the set of completely unrelated movies just to get away from his cray cray fans.

Sure, but that's not what the anon I replied to was saying. S/he said it was idiotic to purchase a box set of books you had never read before full stop. I have bought new sets of books I've never read before, and I don't think that makes me an idiot.

I like hardback books, and I like uniform-looking books when I can get them, so I'd rather just buy the set at the get-go than buy a single book and later buy a box set containing that same book or buy the whole set separately. If I'm spending my money on things I like, I don't think it's anyone's business to judge what I purchase.

Haha same, I actually take pleasure in seeing people's faces if I have it on shuffle and it suddenly changes from Strapping Young Lad to Backstreet Boys. I recently downloaded and stuck on about 20+ songs from Horrible Histories, now I can strut down the road wording songs about George IV and Charles II:King of Bling :P
