Honestly? I think a lot of the bumpy stuff has to do with Shatterstar's social awkwardness and figuring out who he really is. (That's not to say Julio is perfect) They genuinely love eachother and it's always interesting to see how they overcome their issues together. They're a great couple.

I totally get what you're saying here and I think I agree. Though sometimes I come across a fic that just sort of.. doesn't work with that scenario, unfortunately (mostly when it turns out to be flat-out noncon).

For example, if someone writes about an original, fictional castle in their writing, I can guarantee you, that none of the readers will have the exact same castle in their heads when reading about it.

It's not disrespectful to the author if there's no malicious intent on your part.

ugh, fuck Evil Diva, seriously. It started out so cute and fun but this recent storyline has been nothing short of godawful nonsense, both for the RAPE AS DRAMA cliche (which is literally the worst thing) and the writing in general.

And the writer's attitude about all the completely valid criticisms he's getting, and the reactions to the offensive and insensitive things he's said about it, isn't helping matters at all.
