Damn it, why did this show made me love Starscream? I never cared for any of the other Starscreams. Just about every incarnation of this character dies and I'm going to be all GAAAAAAAAAH when he gets killed. I don't even think there's an "if" - I do think he'll bite the harp farm. J-Just don't let him die until the very, very, very last episode, pretty please?

[identity profile] raichu100.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
This is a fantastic comment, lol. And true.

Re: AND I'M SICK OF "I DON'T UNDERSTAND" SECRETS/COMMENTS/WHATEVER

[identity profile] checkerblob.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
I like this comment. I like this comment a LOT.
I hate the whole "I don't understand" thing when the topic at hand is not that difficult to understand at all. Like "I don't understand why people ship Harry/Draco, they're clearly enemies lol people be mad dumb" I'M PRETTY SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE FIND THE IDEA OF ENEMY/ENEMY LOVE STORIES APPEALING, AS THEY ARE CONSIDERED UNEXPECTED AS WELL AS FORBIDDEN. IF YOU STILL HATE THE IDEA, FINE, HATE IT WITH THE RED-HOT INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS, BUT STFU WITH THE STUPID, I'M-SO-SUPERIOR-TO-YOU-CRAZY-PEOPLE "WELL GOLLY GEE I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND" BULLSHIT.
And I don't ship Harry/Draco at all, as far as ships go, I range from mild like to mild dislike on it. But I am definitely not going to ask someone to waste their time explaining so simple a concept to me by saying I don't understand it.
Why can't people just say they don't like something? stfu with this "don't understand", it makes it damn near impossible to tell if a person's being like that or they genuinely don't understand and need an explanation.

[identity profile] raichu100.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's one thing to like shipping everyone and another entirely to be militant about it and refuse to see that some people like m/m friendship. Definitely a ymmv thing.

[identity profile] seven-costanza.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno, most of the time I played L.A. Noire I forgot that the faces were fake. The bodies look fake, yeah, but the face were amazing.

And the CGI in Tintin isn't trying to emulate humans are realistically as possible. If it were, the characters wouldn't be so stylized.

I just don't see the problem!

Thanks for the memories, anon!

... But you've actually proven intensely boring. Found someone else to play with.

Re: :(

[identity profile] marshwiggledyke.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I realize that the movie is all about making a profit. Which is a shame, considering that most of the appeal of the Tintin books is slavish attention to detail.

They're going to alienate the old-school fans (many of whom ARE in the US) and this mass audience they hope to capture is just going to be creeped out. I can't see anyone winning from this.

Are you trolling or srs? It's hard to tell.

[identity profile] kryptoncat.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Watch the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of that game; it shows what the niece looks like and where she is.

I'm a woman near 6', myself. When I was in high school and they made us learn dancing in phys ed, I got paired with someone who must have been half a foot shorter than me. I don't mind an inch or two, but I just feel awkward as hell with SHORT guys. I mean, I feel awkward and lanky enough just by myself. :/

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
You could check over at the fan meme! :D Not sure how active it is right now though...

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
1) m/m isn't that prominent. It's actually rare to find that a fandom is more slash-oriented than het-oriented. LJ is one of the few slash-oriented places on the net. Once you leave here, you will often find it a different story.

2) I disagree the male get more attention if there is consistent female presence. Those fandom tend to be more het or split overall. Most slash-dominant fandom are usually series with not a very strong female presence in the first place. But

3) You don't have the right to shame anyone for their shipping habits or kinks. They may not get their sexual pleasure or exploration from fandom but somewhere else.

[identity profile] mondaisenshi.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's nice. Which is good, because giant ASCII penis seems to indicate that one is incapable of real intelligible conversation, or possibly just of being the bigger person. Either way, well played, anon.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't watched it, but if you only gave the thing five minutes and then gave it up for ever, then the problem isn't with everyone else. It's with you.

Are you listening to anything people are saying? You're applying this logic and psychology to a child. A child is not an adult. Neither is a teenager an adult when it comes to maturity. You're talking about an abused child in the wizarding world during peace time whom we see grow into a teenager during war time.

Children are not mini adults. Stop trying to argue this.

[identity profile] raichu100.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
People have dreams about different things, anon. I've had occasional fandom dreams, but not a super high number. On the other hand, there are lots of things that it's very common for people to dream about (like having sex and falling to my death, and other things) that I've dreamed about only once or twice in my whole life, or never at all.

[identity profile] raichu100.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm missing the connection between "only shipping M/M" and "being bisexual"

like seriously I have no idea what you're going for there

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there comes a point in realizing that all of your Earth Logic is going to be ignored anyway, the person's being enough of a dumbass that anyone who isn't a lost cause will see it, and so the only thing you could possibly squeeze out of the deal is some juvenile entertainment. Of which you'll get far more from straight-up fucking with them than you will attempting to argue a valid point.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-24 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I hate cookie-cutter hurt/comfort fic. So unoriginal. Especially if there's rape, its practically guaranteed to be boring.

[identity profile] kryptoncat.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm about 5'6" and would love to date a guy shorter than me. But I wouldn't refuse a taller guy, just so you know.

This happened to me, exactly. You are not alone anon :)

@OP:

Are you the same person who once submitted a secret about writing Toews/Kane but you didn't want to post it because you are a Vancouver fan?

The exceptional editing just made me curious...
