Not wanting to stay with someone who repeatedly devalues something you enjoy when they know you don't like it is perfectly reasonable. He doesn't have to like comics too, he just has to shut up and let you enjoy them. If he can't manage that he's not going to be able to manage it in other areas of your lives either.

I've done this with pairings within the same fandom. And most of the time I'm genuinely surprised that it works so often.

I've been doing this for years. I even searched/replaced eye color and hair color to make a story relevant to my favorite character. It ranged from doing it within a fandom (changing pairing) to even between fandoms (a fandom I wasn't familiar with could provide me with the smut for the pairing I preferred.) It might be a dick move but like you OP, I sometimes got desperate.

I just want all of the TGWTG reviewers to stop cameo'ing in their SO's videos all the time. It was funny and kinda cute the first couple of times, but now it seems there there are hardly any reviews where it's just that particular reviewer. It's like, I get it already, you're dating. I want to watch a review, not you two flirting and making insider jokes all the goddamn time.
