3 - They were the pairing that got me into yaoi. I love them so, so much. They have so many problems but together they could work it out and...damn, I love that pairing. I wish there'd been an on-screen kiss too, even though I see the appeal of strongly implied. Tsuzuki and Hisoka~<3<3<3 Now I want to re-watch the series.

14 - Fllay....I hated her. What a nasty, manipulative bitch she was. And annoying, and poor Kira got kinda fucked up in the head because of her. Well, more than he already was. I was neutral about Lacus. Meer, on the other hand...ugh. The series overall was pretty good, but nothing that really stuck with me.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-20 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I adore Lacus because she actively tried to do something. She can't pilot a gundam, nor can she fire a gun, but she's quiet and powerful in her own way. Dignified as hell. I admire that. I hate that a strong female character has to act like a guy or something. Seriously, as far as I'm concerned, she kicks total ass.

Fllay on the other hand, represented everything I hate in a human being. I don't like her not because she's female, but because she's a manipulative, overly prejudiced, psychotic idiot.

I actually saw a very good, coherent argument in a Samurai Champloo comm one time about whether Mugen tops Jin or vice versa. I was shocked.

2) Awww, Matt. ♥ I'm not sure if I want to go like that, but I definitely don't want to get old, so here's to dying young. Heh...

10) I always find it very depressing when people look down on those who say they discovered their sexual orientation through fandom. I see nothing wrong with that, and I think it's stupid to automatically assume they're just lying for attention or trying to be cool or don't know what they're talking about and what have you. I didn't discover that I was bisexual through fandom, but I know I was terrified when I figured it out and fandom helped me so much. It made me realize that I wasn't the only one out there and that not being straight was perfectly normal. So I totally believe you. ♥

Secret Poster Here.

Again, I am astounded by the support! ♥

14. Damn, I've seen more hatred of Fllay and Lacus here than I've seen anywhere else in a long, loooong time. Good to see my fandom still lives on in peoples' hearts. 8D

09. The saddest thing about people like you is that you never pick up on all the truly fucked up things about Japan that you never see in your precious anime. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool country, but it has its problems, too. You'd probably like Japan a great deal more as a tourist, tbqh.

[identity profile] virgo288.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
9. Hah you're not the only one, and that's nothing to feel bad about.
13. HNG FTW!!

MIGUEL!!! Wow. I was actually watching that this afternoon. And singing along of course.

Personally, I always thought Altivo and the armadillo were meant to be together. Although, I'm not quite sure how the mechanics of that would work out...

[identity profile] avianthropy.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
8. As soon as I found out her name years ago, I knew there were going to be people out there seething over it. I'm surprised it took me this long to find one. I think hate is overreacting, personally, but yeah, I can understand some annoyance.

9. Why? Lots of people meet their best friends and spouses through trivial conversation and continue to enjoy that kind of talk with them on a daily basis. Does that make all those relationships shameful? It's the same idea. You can love something for lots of different reasons, not just ones that are "deep."

14. W-wow okay. I just feel the need to express my love for Lacus here. ♥

20. SHARE YOUR FIC or at least tell me what you named him! That secret made me start using and loving iGoogle, too. Socute!

20

(Anonymous) 2007-07-20 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I've taken to calling him "Ocha" just because it means "tea" in Japanese. Which is lame, I know, but it's the first thing that sprung to mind and I can't unstick it. >.< Maybe I'll come up with something better later.

15. OMG YES!

(Anonymous) 2007-07-20 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
9. One of my best friends has been studying Japanese since she was 11. Now, Japanese is her major in college and she plans on using it to enter the international business field. The reason why she wanted to study Japanese? Anime. =P I don't think that's something to feel bad about, as long as you aren't "Omg, Japan > EVERYTHING."

19. Rurouni Kenshin was my very first fandom, and I've loved it since 2000 as well. =3

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_dahne_/ 2007-07-20 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
2. I just want last words half as awesome as, "You're not going to shoot m-"

9. *sigh* Yeah. I know the feeling. I'm always kind of embarrassed to admit that I'm a Japanese major, and that video games were how I found out how fascinating the language is. (Fun fact: Originally, Chrono Trigger's thee sages of time were named Bash, Mash, and Gash. It was Ted Woolsey who changed them to Balthazar, Gaspar, and Melchior. I'm, er, kind of with him on that one.)

The one word I have the hardest time restraining myself from saying all the time is mendokusee. It's just such a useful word.

20. What is this? It's adorable. I've tried going to iGoogle.com, but I don't see anything like it anywhere.

[identity profile] the-angelic-sin.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a bit curious to know what mendokusee means now. I tried a quick google search on it but didn't find much... Do tell? ;)

Pan's Labyrinth fans UNITE! High five! :3

20. Same thing happened to me. Gosh, before long there will be makings of a fullblown fandom. Dang. Well, there's plenty of breathing room to figure out the fella.

1. This secret rings so true. Especially the last part auuuughhh. D:

(Anonymous) 2007-07-20 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
9. Yeah, I'm one of those types too (though maybe not as extreme as yourself, lol). I have taught myself and taken formal Japanese language classes and while I really enjoy it, deep down I know half the reason is because I want to be able to read mangas and watch animes without needing them to be subtitled. Who wouldn't want that kind of ability? XD

I wonder if the Japanese people who are in love with America get shit for liking all things USA (or France or Germany or England, &etc) like we get over here for liking their country a lot.

At this point, I'd settle for her finishing the series.

Though I think the manga was so much better, to be truthful. I mean, the mini-arc with Catholic school boys and the love affair with the teacher?

But really, that makes me nostalgic. ): And a bit sad. I remember how much I used to like them.

I read this secret, and I forgot about all the rest. Hell, there's no way any of the ones I haven't read (which is all after this one) could top this.

I even went and strained my eyes to make sure I read this and understood every last damn word.

IAWTS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

Yes, the implications are awesome, but I'd be willing to sell several of my anime series just to see one kiss.

You rock the world!!!!

2. XD Live fast, die young, leave a beautiful corpse. Hey, I guess there's something to be said for never having to deal with growing old *and* never seeing it coming. ^^

12. I love you, anon.

13. T_T (Seriously, though--I'm very curious about Hikaru no Go--it always sounded interesting. ^^)

16. Miguel! RtED = greatest movie ever. ♥ I actually wore out three copies of the movie from watching it so much. & Tulio and Miguel were originally supposed to be gay.

12. This secret is brilliant.

[identity profile] militarypenguin.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
14. I liked Fllay, mainly because of how psychotic and bitchy she could be--it made her the most entertaining to watch. Even if she wasn't redeemed, I'd still love her if anything for her negative traits. Despite this, I don't have a problem with people who hate her, because it's one of the few cases where the points people make are usually valid, or at least understandable.

17. That actually sounds like a neat experiment.

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2007-07-20 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Flay (or Fflay or Fllay or whatever the correct spelling is; damn Seed names) is what she is, but she could have been so much more ... hence 'fic. :-)

1. Well, your hobbies shouldn't be any body's business, unless it affects them. I certainly wouldn't mention my hobbies to people I first meet. Never seemed like a good idea to me. Also, it's not always a good idea to date someone with the exact same interests anyway. Gets boring. As for "losers", all I know is that many of the fans are in fact total dickheads. I'm sure you'll find the right person someday.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-20 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Also, it's not always a good idea to date someone with the exact same interests anyway.

yeah I know, but you at least want to have a few common interests. cause if you end up getting into a serious relationship with someone, they're gonna find out about your favourite things eventually, you know? it took me about a year to tell my last boyfriend I liked gay porn. and that was long after we'd gotten comfy farting on the same couch together. I also find that many of the fans are dickheads (losers was an umbrella term I guess heh), or are generally some of the most annoying people on the face of the earth. but I really want to find someone who likes anime and manga and video games, just someone who's not obsessed with it. it's a hard combo to find let me tell you. =[
