We are thrilled to introduce you to the first annual The Best of LiveJournal Roleplay: 2008, where awards will be given out to the best of the best depending on you, the voters! In order to have this project be successful, however, we would like to ask for your potential assistance on advertising this project, as our staff and you guys (along with roleplaysecrets) are the only ones who know about the existence of thebestof_rp. Sorry, I put this in the wrong post the first time.

How do you get put in the 'wut' or 'what is this?' section?

Naming fandom isn't required, so why do I sometimes see seemingly valid secrets put in that section? Am I missing something? I read the FAQ and I still don't get it.

I just want to avoid being put there because my interests are obscure.

It's if there's no listed fandom and I can't tell what it is from the secret -- it's to try and tell the trolls apart from the real ones.

Another thing....last night, I submitted some secrets, but now I kinda wanna submit obvious "updated" versions of them....if I submit some that are obviously versions of what I submitted before, could they be posted instead of the "old" versions?

I submitted a secret that I horrifically regret and will be traced back to me easily, and I really really really oh god I'm so desperate to get it taken down, I know, you can't comb through page after page for it, but I will literally pay you money to get this taken down. Like I will literally send you money with paypal, name your price. It's near the very front and it has "general fandom" as the fandom/subject of the comment so that would make it easier to find? I'd also provide the address if you like, so you wouldn't have to click each one to make sure.

I am groveling, please oh please oh please.

Secret 123 did not need to be posted. It was disturbing, unnecessarily shocking and judging by this comment from the OP (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/247723.html?thread=114939307#t114939307) they just did because they are complete assholes. (Which, admittedly, you couldn't have known.)

I remember that you've once linked to a secret because it was too disturbing. I think this might have been appropriate here as well.

Can we have some sort of consistent rules on shock imagery like this secret? I have no interest in seeing a manip involving harlequin babies (don't google this) next just because the OP can't find a more tasteful way of expressing his hatred for a baby storyline or something.

I only linked to the secret before because it violated LJ's rules at the time regarding child porn (and once because the OP stated right on the secret that they were making the secret to spoil everyone else for a certain game).

It's hard to make rules about this kind of stuff because everyone has different triggers (rape and anorexia are a big ones here) -- once we start filtering like that, it's hard to know where to stop.

I hope it isn't just me but I feel left out of the majority of the discussion due to my timezone. By the time people on my side of the world are online, the party's already over. Most of the time, only the OP would check for such "late" comments but more often than not, I'd like other commenters to see what we've got to say too. Because comments roll in slowly during my time, I feel even less inclined to participate; there could be others who think the same way and therefore refrain from the discussions altogether. If I were the OP, I find that many don't bother looking for my response to their comments as the OP because it's so "late".

Could we set up a post once every week or two for discussion of all the secrets posted within that time? This could be done with a time delay as well, so people can chill and rethink after reading others' initial thoughts.
