Fandom: Um... can be direct fairytale retelling or AU fic from any number of fandoms.
Preferred Medium: Fic. Maybe comics, if anyone knows of any good ones.
Preferred Genre: Romance/friendship, I guess. Angst on the way to a happy ending is fine, too.
Characters/Pairings: One person who's generally considered pretty if maybe a little odd/Other person who is disfigured/monstrous/potentially not even a person

Have you read Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart? It's easily the most popular GerIta story in the fandom and really well written and emotional. It's a WW2 human!AU, and the author has several companion fics taking place in the same universe:

I don't have a link to it, but you should search for a doujinshi called Der erste Stern. It has four parts, all of which have been translated into English. It's absolutely gorgeous and beautiful.

Dunno if you're still around, anon, but here are some. These are all CJ/Danny, mostly shortish episode tags, and all by the same author, but CJ is a boss in them. They're pretty variable in tone, and the dialogue is unerringly Sorkinish. Wootcanah, The Fine Art of Disposal, One Out of Forty-Nine, Bumfuzzled, Dreamtime, The Cheap Seats, Give and Take, and Today's Date. 25 Hours is a lengthy alternate ending to the Season Four finale and is therefore plotty, but definitely features CJ/Danny.
