True fuckin' facts.

I started playing Mass Effect for the Garrus romance too, (also, seconding that desire for an alien dating sim. Fucking aliens are hot as hell, man) but I started at 1 because I wanted the whole context and found that the series as a whole is really great. I got so attached to all the characters and improved my skills on the actual gameplay part quite a bit (went from dying constantly in 1 to being a fucking boss in the middle of 3 right now)

I'd encourage you to try the other games if you have a chance, maybe do a "proper" playthrough one day. Stuff you could have done in 1 can have a big impact in both of the sequels. (like I'm pretty sure starting at 2 means Wrex isn't around, which makes me sad forever because he's fucking awesome)

The romance with Garrus has more punch that way too, imo. In 2 it's pretty eh beyond his cute awkwardness but in 3 it's really fucking good and really well-written.

just get a good laugh out of it, OP.

All I remember from Count Zero is the gang war between the "goths" and the preppies. Yeah, I read it a looooong time ago.

Re: Do You Automatically Judge Adults

I live with my parents for various reasons (college, closer to resources, my old house fell apart). There's plenty of other reasons I can judge people. Living with parents isn't even on my list.

oh god ajsdkfjdsf i'm gone

Re: Do You Automatically Judge Adults

No.
Adults can have many reasons to live with their parents: they don't have a job yet, they can't afford to live on their own, they want to because of their parents' health, they want to and contribute to the family's expenses.
I would side-eye someone who just mooches off their parents and generally acts like an ungrateful, selfish 30 year-old brat though. But I don't judge if I don't know.

just judging from my dash, i really shipped them at first! then i watched the actual show and they barely fucking interact, it was so disappointing. ship and let ship etc but jesus i have no idea why it's so popular.

I love this movie. It forever ruined Danny DeVito for me, though. I can't not see Penguin in any other movie.

I wonder if there's another subsection of the fandom on a different site. I hope you find one. I've had a circle of online friends that was like that and it's horrible, it's good that you're getting out.

(Anonymous) 2012-08-29 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
it ain't exactly hard

Dammit, now I'm really bummed that Gary Oldman wasn't in Burton's Batman.

(Anonymous) 2012-08-29 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Obviously! I mean, it's got Michelle Pfeiffer!

Can't shoot for shit either, I'm more a swords person. I got into ME because I liked Dragon Age, but I must say I prefer the romance in DA.

I love roaming around in Mako though. It makes me feel badass. And the universe is wonderful.

This.

If I could have any adaptation of any comic, it would be a Gotham Central TV series.

Sex shop recs

(Anonymous) 2012-08-29 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I live in Northern Europe and I'm in need of a new vibrator, but I'm having a hard time finding one. I'd love to buy stuff from Edenfantasys, but the shipping will cost an arm and a leg to where I live. The local shops have moderate shipping fees, but their selection is pretty crappy. I can't order stuff from Amazon either, they don't ship sex toys to all locations. So, err, help a girl out by reccing some sex shops that will ship stuff to Europe as cheaply as possible.

When journal-based fandom gets too heavy, I always go to Tumblr to cool down. Everyone always seems to be more chill and fun-loving there, and the wank is much less personal and much more hilarious.

Including in the Sherlock fandom, which is what I kind of suspect the OP is referring to.

(Anonymous) 2012-08-29 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
...I've always hated the moron!Thor trope, but I never thought about it as xenophobic. But now that I think back on it, the fic writers really DO characterize him with all the infuriating leaps of logic and dehumanization that we always bash in the works of older american and british authors who committed embarrassingly ignorant race!fail and culture!fail when writing "exotic" characters and shit. Ewwwww...

Yeah, normally I bust out some pictures here and give a rec but... you set a high fucking standard friend. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm not sure I can find more, like this, and as good.
