Aw, don't be nervous about it! I don't think F!S is that judgey about RPF. I've been able to discuss it on here just fine. And if they do bother you, as a fellow RPF fan, I'll stick up for you :)

Just because you like something someone else does doesn't exclude you from bonding over something else. I'm a huge "Doctor Who" RPFer and many of my friends don't don the same shipper goggles as me, but we still flail over other fandoms and commiserate when it comes to RL things. Your ships don't define you in your entirety, so I hope you don't let them hold you back.

I don't understand the issue with an alt or a sock. You are making things harder on yourself than they need be. Either post from your journal and learn to not give a fuck that you may be judged for RPF (people probably won't open your journal unless they decide to friend you) or create an alt. A lot of people on here post from alts and no one cares. It it really such an inconvenience to create a new journal to post under? (Answer: NO.) And, you are going to be judged on here for something eventually.

Either learn to not give a fuck or create an alt. Problem solved.

I think OP is against using a sock because it would isolate friends made on f!s from friends made on the main account. OP probably wants the friends on his/her main account, but is afraid potential friends will see rpf and not want to talk unless it's on f!s directly.

I don't think a lot of people even focus on what's in people's journals - mostly it's just the comments you make here. I don't think I've ever seen anyone be all "YOUR COMMENT IS INVALID BECAUSE YOUR JOURNAL IS FULL OF RPF!!!"

Why not make a f!s sock, though? I have a billion sockpuppet names all over the place, for whatever the occasion demands, and I never cross the streams. It's a great luxury of the internet universe.

Ehh, I protest against RPF but I like a few myself. It's one of my more quieter things I fan about, I couldn't bring myself to actually get involved with the fandoms.

But I know there's a difference between the gross RPF fans and the normal ones. I think a lot more people on F!S are like that too.

I make fun of RPF and it's fanbase of nutcrackers. Glorified tabloid nonsense, and "they're not people! They're characters" just rubs me the wrong way.

Except I happen to ship real life game developers and podcasters and some celebrity actor people.

So I totally got no place to judge. I don't even hate rpfers!
