Yeah, that really got me. I get the whole hero-worship thing, but what ever possessed those two to use the names "Albus Severus" with the last name POTTER? You have to have a weirder last name to get away with Albus Severus, even in the wizarding world.

22. I took Japanese (seriously) for two years. I only dropped year 3 because I was already taking German (my dad wanted me to continue with German) and I didn't have room in my schedule for both languages, art, a life, and sleep. Where was I? Oh yeah. I was able to read the sentence (even without the chat, guys! Honest! Without having to look up kanji. But I guess it's cheating 'cause I'm Chinese XD) but. I STILL can't string together a proper coherent sentence; are you crazy?!

I don't hate her, but I don't like her because I think there are so many other female characters that, in my opinion, are stronger, cooler, better (etc, etc), than she is but get very little or no love and attention in the series. Come on, I see 'Hime love all the time, we need more Tatskui lovin'. =3

24. One of the things that I like about the series (though it's more obvious in the novels since they go further) is how Haruhi slowly becomes less self-centered and less of a dick to everyone. At that point in the series, she canonically doesn't care about anyone in the world except Kyon; over the next year and a half, that changes.

28. When you think someone is cool, you friend them. You'd be surprised how many people will friend you back and read your entries, even people with large flists.

As much as I hate people bashing her for things that aren't even true for her character, like being stupid, weak, or a whore... at least those are character traits, and decent reasons not to like someone who actually is that way. But what the hell should a part of someone's looks even matter?

24. If Haruhi were a real person, I'd honestly hate her guts and want to punch her in the face repeatedly... but I love the show and her character. There are some characters I can't separate from how I'd feel about them in reality, but Haruhi's one that makes it work for me.

Hell yeah! Kikaider has a fandom, but mostly among the older set, I think. Kikaider itself is pretty retro.

I think members of fandom have a knee-jerk reaction to next generation pieces as they are so bad usually. This showed their children so it subsequently fell there. So they had kids and sent them off to school? They're happy. Good for them.

If she'd made the epilogue more about the kids I would not like it. But to me it seemed clear it was about Harry. I also agree that there's a lot of nuance and layers in it.

28. It helps to either be A) actively contributing to the fandom in some way (Drawing, makking icons, posting art in a related comm) or B) in some community of fans. WAY BACK WHEN before LJ I visited forums and made friends with people there, and once you get attached you stay in contact. Most of my current fandom friends I made through roleplay. But yah! You have to go out and look for people and start conversations with them, it's a little slower in LJ because it's COMMENTS and people may not reply back to you or care at all. They're more likely to care if you're doing fan-related stuff thus the popularity of trying to achieve BNF status. But it's hardly necessary, you just need to be out going enough to talk to people a lot o/ They won't magically come to you.

16. AGREED. That's the most immature thing a person can do. D: You can't hate someone because of their body size. When people hate her because of her breast size, I get angry because it isn't like she can help something like that. It's not exactly a legitimate reason either. Plus, I know there are probably real people who go through the same thing. That can also be said for people who get bashed for having a smaller bust size. The whole things just stupid.

Maybe it's that I'm used to black humor of that nature, but even for a touchy subject, it was one of the tamer instances of it being used. Besides being mostly implied, the whole computer lab including the guy "harassing" her sure weren't happy about it, and no one was cheering him on about it, either. I'm not going to hold it against you for being offended by it as we all have our set limits, but I do have to wonder how you're able to stand most anime when that kind of humor is prominent and often advocated by the characters involved.

To be honest, I've seen Jakotsu *bashed* for being gay and having a crush on Inuyasha. So no, being gay doesn't always equal to being loved by fangirls. :/
