22. aww - I did a year and a bit of japanese, serious non-anime study (family reasons - :P anime would have made it more interesting) - and I can only get "dog" out of the sentance :(

I am so happy to know that I am not the only person in the world who thinks that Haruhi is a horrible, terrible person. T___T I watch the show for everyone who is not Haruhi... and yeah, I gave up after a while and ARRRGH.

Number 26 - WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY ~~recent~~ LIFE? I don't ship Robes/his butler, but the very fact that anyone put up a KIBA secret at all means you are made of win and instantly makes my life. There is hardly a fandom if at all for the anime, and I'm insanely in love with it, so I just have to know. I won't bite, promise! ^.^;;

I'm too lazy to read all the comments, so sorry if this has already been said :)

I used to be really into the Harry Potter fandom, but I didn't have any online fandom friends because I was a lurker. I found one awesomely funny Harry/Draco fic that I sent to a few friends of mine, and two of them became completely obsessive fangirls as well! It probably helped that the fic wasn't too long, and we're all university students, so we're used to reading longish pieces of text. Then I wrote a bit of fanfiction for a small-scale challenge, and friended someone there who wrote fic in the same genre, because we obviously loved eachother's work.

Then I got into the Death Note fandom, which is fairly small, and was very active at that time because the anime was still being aired. I friended every active community I could find and commented on almost every entry. I made a few friends through comment-conversations (when you talk to someone and they are awesome, just say 'hey, is it okay if I friend you?', common courtesy dictates they can't refuse!). I started writing a *lot* of fanfiction as well, and a few people friended me because they wanted to keep up with what I wrote without having to watch the communities all they time. I friended those that seemed interesting back. Likewise, I friended some people who wrote awesome fanfiction, and all of them friended me back (and I'm actually on really good terms with most of them ^-^ I was afraid they would just filter me out of their default reading list). There were also two friending memes (one in a regular community and one in the CAPSLOCK community XD), and I made a few friends there. In total, I think I have maybe 15 friends in that fandom now, and only two of them are kind of irritating and will probably be cut soonish.

tl;dr version: Just be active in your fandom! You need to interact with people to make them notice you.

20. ...is it bad that I like the "anime" picture better? It's got nice colouring and the second one is just generic and overall boring. (I mean, I'm sure a lot of work went into it, buuuuut... an elf, with a sword, and a tree. Come on now.)

25. I don't even see the big deal about the epilogue, to me it's just another chapter of the book. The content of the story is what matters to me. I agree that people are acting like it's a given that everyone hates it. x__x

28. I have one RL friend who likes one of the series I'm a fan of. AND THAT IS ALL. THE EXTENT OF MY FANDOM FRIENDS. So I feel your pain. D:

Also 25: I love how when someone says "stop complaining about how much you hate the epilogue", everyone goes "SHUT UP, I HATE THE EPILOGUE".

4 - Suzaku is my daaarling. While I love both him and Lelouch about equally, it's Suzaku's face plastered on something that makes me reach for my wallet. (lolz figurine, fasteners, Lancelot model kit, note pads, manga, ect, ect...)

24 - Haruhi is a bitch. That scene made my stomach sort of turn, and I don't even like Mikuru. But the thing that really got me was that her reason for BEING a bitch was because she realized that she was just another person. I couldn't stand her after that, eventual softening aside or no.

GTFO. Its an anime. Its not supposed to be taken seriously.. some people are so touchy sometimes and such fuckin' feminists. I'm a chick, but you dont see me bitching about a little anime grope. Seriously. GROW A PAIR.

28 - Communities. Talk to people. Get your name out there so it is recognizable. Then start asking to friend and friending back. It'll happen. It's slow, but it'll happen.

I think it's fine for people to like the anime art... but I wish those people would realize that drawing typical anime stylez doesn't require nearly HALF the talent as a realism artist, etc. :( SORRY IT'S THE TRUTH. And it's very very depressing that the anime artists are more often, ten times as popular... ONLY because they draw anime, not because they're ACTUALLY talented or because they put hard work into a great work of art (because often, anime art ISN'T that 'great' and yet people love it to death ANYWAYS). I just think it's unfair because so many BETTER artists are treated as if they're LESSER just because they have less +favs. That's NO judge of quality, really.

In short, it's not bad to like the anime art better, but I think it's stupid of people to say that it IS better, that the anime artist is more talented than the 'realism' artist, because... UHM. D: Really now.
