I've been reading some stuff online but I can't for the life of me find a timeframe for when it will actually debut in New York. You wouldn't happen to know, would you?

I'm with you! I actually got -into- Naruto because of Gaara and Kankuro. I didn't know who they were, but I thought... damn, hot demon guy and puppetmaster. <3 for them both. Then I checked out Naruto and got into the anime. ^^

22- Les Mis ♥ Beauty and the Beast ♥ I love musicals more than life itself, so I agree with you there!

23- I love Haruhi too! It makes me sad that people think she's dull.

[identity profile] acuteness.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
10: Gintama: the show that makes you pay attention to little things like your blood sugar levels. It's never high enough. :lb

27: I find Gintama hilarious and awesome *A*b So if that makes my sense of humor weird or something, then lol whatever, it's still awesome regardless. And you don't think Excel Saga is funny? I question your sense of humor too o.o

[identity profile] vespawoman.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
27: I ditto the Excel Saga. It's damn funny~. Can't say so about Gintama. Zetsubou is quite amusing, too~. I wonder who's the one with odd sense of humor here? :P

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
20. I'm just kind of curious... What do you mean by pushy RPers?
sincere: DGM: Lenalee's back to the viewer ([bleach-urahara] i has a plan)

[personal profile] sincere 2007-09-05 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm curious too. I suspect the secret-maker has a lot of RP-promoting friends, but I've been sitting here in my tiny corner of the Bleach fandom actually bemoaning the lack of good games up until like, three days ago. XD

02. I think a lot of POT fans like other teams better than Seigaku, to tell the truth. So don't feel bad!

04. Dude, I kinda envy you for your dreams *3*b

08. For a second there, I thought for sure someone had finally submitted a JoJo secret...

10. Yay, Gintama love! I really need to get around to watching the anime, huh? *fan of the original manga*

While I agree, your taste in musicals is questionable. :|

\o/ for Urinetown, though!

27. There was a Death Note parody?! SOMEONE TELL ME WHICH EPISODE IT IS. I gotta see it. ): I stopped watching after all the dragon ball z, and whatever else they included in that one episode. 8(

1. Comparing yourself to an anime character is suicide. DON'T DO IT MAN

there I solved all your problems.

8. GOD, WORD MCWORD WORD. Okay, it's a satire. I get it. Proving you can make fun of easy targets (harem anime, twincest...) does not make you clever.

BUT THAT ART IS BEAUTIFUL oh my god.

02. I like Hyotei more than Seigaku. I do love Seigaku, but eh, Hyotei just do it for me more. :)

[identity profile] rabanastre.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
7. Me toooo. It's like, I really don't care about how much you want to cut yourself, srsly.

22. OMGYES. I'm such a secret musical lover~ ♥

28. I've actually wondered that as well. I think it's because fandom is so much more open? And you're not the only straight person around here~

[identity profile] warplanes.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Mello is amazing. ): I relate to yooou, anonymous.
9. Ahah, I would love to see someone do fanfic commish... it would be a great feeling, I think, to have someone willing to pay good money for something you wrote. Sorta like selling books, but on a smaller scale. But yeah, they'd get bitched out. D: It's a shame.
11. Oh god those oranges are awesome.
13. D-do I know you?

It's Reggie not Richie :D but I agree about the Archie thing.

28. I have no idea, either, but I meet more bisexuals in fandom and on the internet than I do lesbians, anyways. Just bisexuals that are dating girls. I think the internet has been proven to lower your inhibitions in general, and a lot of what attracts you about someone, especially online, can be an emotional thing or whatever. I'm not one to judge someone else's relationship, but it could be that these girls connect much easier emotionally with other women than with men on the internet or in real life.

It's not too much of a statistical oddity, so much of it is social constructionism. It's a statistical oddity that so many men were homosexuals in Greece. It's a statistical oddity that in the Victorian Era and not but a couple of centuries ago, a large portion married women had a woman lover on the side. It's all about what is and what isn't okay in society at the time. The internets has its own society. It is an oddity in itself :D

27. I feel the same way about Ouran but I just let people think what they think :(

26. D'aww that's like one of my favourite friendships. I think it's pretty underrated as a friendship and as a pairing, anyways, but Gaara is hard to see in a romantic relationship in my eyes anyways.

I think you should be able to be honest with your friend, unless she's lame and would get butt hurt about it. As long as you don't bash the pairing I don't see many issues.

[identity profile] athenaltena.livejournal.com 2007-09-06 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
As a gay woman I'd agree with your theory, especially since many of the gay people in fandom may not be out in real life.

[identity profile] yi-ui-min.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
22. Yay for Scarlet Pimpernel! No one ever talks about that show.

[identity profile] tenshinofushigi.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Those songs are amazing. And I lust for Chauvelin.

[identity profile] soaker87.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
13- I print out fanfics from time to time. Sometimes they're just really good and I want to read them while offline.

15- Smut really isn't my thing either. I've looked at it, but it tends to weird me out. I'd rather stick with other genres like fluff and angst.

24- I knew of a girl who looked just like a character in fandom. I never learned her actual name, but always thought of her as the character. It was kinda freaky.

[identity profile] sarajayechan.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
5. Archie wouldn't look the same in live-action. And I think you meant Reggie. XD I kinda ship Jughead/Betty, though. A little. >.>

16. Despite agreeing that it's sad when people put SO MUCH STOCK in being the best writer of trendy buttsex pairings and keeping their fandom pure and clean of what they personally hate, it's still a "I lose respect" secret and therefore I must make good on my promise from 2 days ago:

Image

17. Fuck that. Fandom says you're not supposed to do a lot of things, but people do them anyway. Only mindless drones do everything they're told. =P

[identity profile] sarajayechan.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
16 clarification: ...and by "put SO MUCH STOCK in being the best writer of trendy buttsex pairings and keeping their fandom pure and clean of what they personally hate" I mean "being snotty little trend whores who put down other people just to make themselves bigger".

But I hate people like that no matter what they're dabbling in, so...

11. SERIOUSLY. Totally agreed.
21. I hate being "stuck" like that in fandom. When you reach the point where you're so desperate for fic, anything at all, that you'll take whatever you can get and just try to make the best of it. :\ Having to lower your standards sucks.

re:21

(Anonymous) 2007-09-05 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
And I love Wolf so much, but the other fan... ugh. I love Wolf, but she wants to be Wolf, and writes fic where Wolf is nearly raped by Ocelot and is saved by handsome caring Liquid and I can't stand it.

... And my standards are so low, and my craving so deep, that I still read it. DAMN ME.

9) I get kind of whiny about this myself, sometimes. Especially at conventions, it feels like fanartists get all the love. There's an art show at pretty much every con, but rarely anything like a fanfic contest. We don't really get a good option to try to sell fanfiction or take commissions or anything. >.> I guess I just feel like writing gets less love as an art in fandom. (I think the story when it's professional and original is quite a bit different, though.)

28) Maybe it's because fandom's more relaxed than real life, so people feel more comfortable being a little daring and coming out.
...and keep in mind, until you've met someone in person, you have no idea if they're anything like they say they are, even in gender. ^^; So there might be far fewer - or far more - lesbians than you think.

[identity profile] sailormoon.livejournal.com 2007-09-05 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
16- If more people were like that the interweb would be a much better place.

28- If your the only straight person you know in fandom you must not know a lot of people O_o Get friends outside of fandom maybe? ::shrugs::
