12. What's wrong with unconditional kindness? It's more endearing than having a character who's a bitch to everyone, and it doesn't automatically mean that the character doesn't have flaws. Those I suppose I can understand not particularly not like the archetype.
33. It's horrible when people just judge a perfectly good character from how they were in the beginning. A lot of people seem to forget about character development. And hating a character because they 'replaced' someone else is simply lame.
What's the show for these secrets? That girl looks cute and pretty.

6, 13 I agree with these fucking secrets!

27 This secret was not written by me, I promise.

2, 5, 32

2. How very tragic. I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs*

5. I have had the biggest crush on him for the longest time. He's by far my most favourite character in the series.

32. I'm not even halfway through and I absolutely LOVE Junpei! I don't know what it is about him, but you can just tell from certain points that he has this amazing amount of depth to him. He truly is one of the most amazing characters I have ever seen. <3

[identity profile] mxcreepy.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
12. IAWTS. And everyone, stfu about 12 and 33. Srsly. Overused already, thnx.

26. Do you know what PostSecret is? It's exactly like FandomSecrets and LJSecrets. Anywho. I've thought about sending in a postcard with, "My secret is, that I have no secrets." ): Being too open sucks, eh?

[identity profile] ensuing.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
3. I gained a crush on Sir Aaron from movie 8 when I was 22. Damn, he's so hot.

7. I don't think some of those characters are how you think they are. =\ That said, Kenpachi ♥ and Scar ♥

32. From the little I've seen, I love him too. =D

Re: 7

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, lots of people are saying this. What I meant was the general archetype of heroes. I just meant that good-looking characters with (sometimes) tragic backgrounds (Link is the exception) aren't my thing! Is that better? ;_;

(Anonymous) 2007-09-09 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
12. Sweet and innocent != no flaws, thx. Dislike that archetype if you want, but making out like every characters that's like that is badly written and flawless is just stupid.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)

13. I never liked QaF. I tried to like it, but really the protagonist was such an asshole that I couldn't watch it. As for Brokeback Mountain, I didn't like that either mainly because it became the epitome of a gay romance and I think a lot of people proclaimed its greatness because it was a gay romance.

24. I'll admit there was a lot of subtext there. ::dies.:: Oh god, corrupting my childhood once again.

24

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who saw the subtext. I watched it with my parents -- and sometimes my grandparents -- when I was a kid, and just saw their relationship as a really "special" kind of friendship. But today... well.

[identity profile] musouka-manga.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
12 - I feel compelled, for my little brother's sake, to point out that he HATES Nia. I've never seen the show myself, and thus can't judge, but from what he's said...

And he's not the type to hate a character just for appearing, but seriously. I have NEVER seen him rant about a character like he has her.

[identity profile] silverfox1027.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
16. No. Azumanga Daioh is a bit of an otaku show. Most mainstream audiences won't really care for it (myself included).

27. THE BACKSTREET BOYS WILL BE AMAZING FOREVER. *bricked*
xenoglossy: (Sailor Moon // "Amara" and "Michelle")

[personal profile] xenoglossy 2007-09-09 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
23. I do that too. I also disable jealousy so that my Sims can be in a bunch of different relationships at once. ... Man, now I want to go play Sims.

[identity profile] valeriepage10.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
16: I don't think it's funny either, so you aren't the only one.

[identity profile] mireia-antonina.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
28. Collateral...fic? Thanks, that's what I going to waste all next weekend looking for. XD

7. Freddy Krueger? Yum, good choice.

Oh and 12/33 FTW.

[identity profile] warplanes.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
12. ;; Nia hate makes me sad, but I CAN understand where you're coming from but would also like to say that being sweet and innocent can be a flaw in itself.

33. I lol'd at how you used the same Nia pic as the notsopositive secret. I'll admit I really didn't like her too much at first but oh god as the series went on I just fell in love. ♥ In other words, IAWTS!

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind "sweet and innocent" as a character flaw, as long as it's treated as a flaw by the canon itself. Which it usually isn't.

I sincerely hope the reason you dumped your boyfriend for this cosplay dude is because the dude beneath the cosplay excited you. If you dumped him because the cosplay dude rings your chimes because he cosplays your favorite bishie, that makes you a major league cunt.

Re: 30.

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
the guy beneath the costume is probably the most exact opposite person I go for but yet I can't help being infatuated with him. Sure, it all started thanks to cosplay, but I honestly love the person he is underneath it all. Not only is he physically attractive, but he's unpredictable and beginning to like our rollercoaster ride of a relationship.

Am I safe from batting with the douches now, mommy?

33. Carter Sue is a whore who can do no wrong in tptb's minds, what character development?, if she makes a mistake it's ignored, and she's so perfect it makes me nauseous, I wish she'd just die.

I hate that bitch so much, at least when she was on SG1 I didn't have to see her, but then tptb [who masturbate to pics of her every night I assume] had to bring her perfect self to SGA and ruin my favorite show, I had to stop watching just because of that bitch.

PS: The mere mention of Carter makes me want to kill someone, preferably Joe Mallozzi, the fucking bastard should DIAF.

And before anyone asks, yeah I'm fucking angry and I'm aware I take that stupid show way too seriously.

33

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
In 9 years (not counting season 9, where she did literally nothing), she had to prove herself time and time again that she was fully capable of doing what Men could do. Of course from the presented view point it was almost as if TPTB were pitying her and attempting to make the viewers feel encouraged in watching her, one of the few leading Sci-Fi females, do great things.

The fact is, she isn't perfect and she has made mistakes... but people have accepted them because she acts upon them in an appropriate manner. She learned from them and her character was developed based on the fact that she is an equal member of the team.

The only real reason people call her a Mary Sue and look at her as "perfect and faultless" is because she's female. If Daniel were female, he'd likely be called one in the same way.

In SG-1, the original roster were written equally. You just have to follow each character's story without bias to notice this.

The only thing that could make me more stupidly happy than two juxtaposed secrets about the Metal Gear character someone is madly in love with personally, mine's Volgin. You know the crazy is HOT is that they are Otacon and Ocelot. DESTINY SUPPORTS MY CRACKPAIRING

3. I still have an embarassingly soft spot in my heart for the old Pokemon series.

4. Being original is good, too. Write what you want to write.

5. WIN

7. Zaraki Kenpachi is awesome. That is all.

10. OH GOD THE CUTE

13. Tried to watch it, got bored with the soap opera. If nobody gets a ninja knife in the eye or fights demons in the first 10 episodes, what's the point?

14. ....Never watch Detective Conan.

17. ALSO WIN. Bonus points for using PS1 graphics.

22. Squirrel Girl agrees. (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Seawolf9/gla04-01.jpg)

(Anonymous) 2007-09-10 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I think the Twin Snakes graphics are ugly, to be honest. PS1 FTW

19. Roommates suck. Private rooms FTW.

26. That's why I can never make secrets. Because I don't have any! And cause I suck at Photoshop.

[identity profile] yummycoffee.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
12. Ahahaha, yeah I pretty much hate those chara types too. They're boring and annoying. But then, I do not subscribe to the moe newsletter. Never have, never will. Man, we should be friends. <3

16. Yeah I didn't find it all too funny either.

30. D: Wow?

33. LOL, "pity." Some people just don't like those personality types. I think I would be a little more sympathetic to her if she had some actual faults. I mean look at Eureka from Eureka7. Now that is how you develop blank slate characters RIGHT. ;P

24

[identity profile] rktikfox.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I lol'd. Mustache powers fucking activate.

Re: 24

Awesome XDb (I utterly and completely blame that series for my love of mustaches.)

And you're a fellow JoJo fan as well! So much WIN ♡

[identity profile] elystia.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
7. I FOUND TWILIGHT PRINCESS GANON TO BE INCREDIBLY ATTRACTIVE.

There, I admitted it :(

[identity profile] elystia.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Also, Link isn't tragic enough to fit the stereo type. If you've read the manga he's actually a huge dweeb.

16.

[identity profile] angeladunn.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
I couldn't really get into it either... :/
I loved the manga...but the show dragged on....and on......

So no, you're not alone on that :>

IS IT SAD WHENEVER SHE SAYS THAT ALL I CAN THINK OF IS SAYONARA ZETSUBOU SENSEI? :( AND THEN I LOL. A LOT.

16

[identity profile] xspin.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I really enjoyed the manga, but I found the show to be dull.

[identity profile] valkyriur.livejournal.com 2007-09-10 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
#10, is that Super Demented Gundam? Errr...SD Gundam, I mean. ;) Heh, I couldn't get into that show, but good for you!
