Cloud/Aeris is basically my OTP to end all OTPs.

OP, you're an asshole. There's plenty of basis for Zack/Cloud, far more than just wanting two hot guys together.

I don't understand this recent trend of people thinking they're utterly superior for shipping canon het. Like, congratulations? Do you want a medal or something? Just sit down, shut up, enjoy your ship, and let other people do the same.

I haven't played CC and, to be honest, I have absolutely no intention of doing so. None of the new canon has stood a candle to the original game in my opinion.

But I'm guessing the scene between Zack and Aeris that you mentioned is some wonderful, emotional, heart-filled moment that inspires shipping love. And that's great! I ship Zack/Aeris. I also ship Cloud/Aeris and Zack/Cloud and Zack/Cloud/Aeris and sometimes I'll mix Sephiroth in there at different points for funsies (though that's usually more a one-sided attraction than anything that ever actually happens). And while, for me personally, I can't see Zack/Cloud happening before Hojo captures them, five years stranded together with no one else to rely on but the other, suffering and being tortured and having to watch the other go through the same, then finally breaking free and having Zack carry Cloud to safety across two continents?

Whoa. That's pretty shippy stuff! No matter how great the scene you've mentioned is, I'm at a loss for why if someone ships Zack/Cloud more than Zack/Aeris, that one scene can outweigh the really strong shipping potential within Cloud and Zack's story.

Unless it's a truly fantastic scene. I haven't actually seen it.

Woah woah woah... we're getting a "you're not a true fan!" secret about one of the games in the Complication, not the original game?

Shit, girl. I judge you for deciding that Crisis Core is more canon than the original game. In the original game, Zack and Aerith were basically just a teen romance, not true love forever! Whereas Zack risked his lie to break Cloud out of the lab with him, and hauled Cloud halfway across the world even though Cloud was catatonic, had very little chance of waking up, died to defend him, and Cloud then went crazy and convinced himself he was Zack. That's a hell of a lot more shippy in my opinion.

(And I'm a big fan of Zack/Aerith, but if you don't see that Zack/Cloud has at least as much canon justification, you're an idiot and I judge you.)

I ship Zerith and love that scene but come on, CC has a metric fuckton of Zack/Cloud fuel. That ending, hello? People are more likely to ship it due to playing CC than no -- I almost can't take you and your secret seriously because of how blindly obvious this is.

That aside, I am a yaoi fan but, let's be real, the original game was all about Cloud/Aeris, and Cloud / Tifa. I am personally a Cloud / Aeris fan 5ever, and the one true yaoi pair is Cloud / Barret.

Meh. Crisis Core. I never got interested in that. I was a fan of the original game. I shipped Cloud/Sephiroth, with optiions on a foursome with Zack and Aeris. I also shipped Cloud with Vincent because they could be emo together(especially AC!Cloud).
