I think Gina Torres as Wonder Woman would be fantastic, but sometimes I wonder what the actors themselves would think about fancasts. Like, would she see something like this on the internet and think, "Hey, that's not a bad idea"? Or whatever. Or who would be the people to talk to if this is a thing that people want to see happen?

Who decided that there won't be a Wonder Woman movie? Is there some form of ban I'm unaware of? I'd like to delude myself into thinking it'll happen one day. Just not tomorrow.

I don't think Hollywood is ready for a Wonder Woman movie. Every time I hear the rumblings of a one, they always talking about how Diana will tackle woman's issues or how in that God awful pilot, she wanted a career and family or how she is searching for Mr. Right. And all I can think is, "CHRIST! You don't get Wonder Woman at all."

She isn't the every woman. She's warrior. She was born and raised as an Olympian blessed fighter. Treat her as such. It's odd how back in the 90's they had no problem making a show like Xena where she was a warrior through and through but almost twenty years later it seems like such a foreign concept.

Am I the only person on Earth who isn't crazy about her as WW? Don't get me wrong, she's super awesome and talented and gorgeous I would be totally down with an actress of any ethnicity playing the role (I think WW's race is pretty flexible despite her being Caucasian in the comics), but I'm kind of 'eh' on it being Gina. I just don't really see it.

(And for as much as you're cringing the idea of them casting a twenty-something, casting a younger actress does make sense because if it were to turn out to be a franchise she could be in the role for years and years.)

I would prefer Gina Carano, or time traveling back to 1990 and casting Geena Davis, but Gina Torres would also be amazing in the role.

I guess the key to being a good potential WW in my mind is being named Gina or a variant thereof.

I like to pretend that we'll actually get a Wonder Woman movie considering that DC are currently trying to ramp up to a Justice League film, but I honestly don't think it will ever happen which makes me both sad and angry.

+1000000000 for Gina Torres as WW though, I would love to see that.

Considering the character's connection to Greek mythology, I might hold out for a Greek actress. (As in, actually Greek, not Western European.) Then again, I don't know of one offhand who'd be good in an action movie.)

While I agree she'd be an awesome Wonder Woman, the notion that looking small = weak annoys me. To pack on the muscle like that takes LOADS of work specifically to gain the bulk; just aiming to get strong will generally not result in big muscles on women. My friend is a pro weightlifter and she still looks tiny and like a "strong wind could knock her over" or whatever, but she could beat almost anyone's ass.

I honestly don't care who stars in Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Zatanna, Scarlet Witch, etc. films. I just want them to exist before the superhero craze finally passes. We're running out of time! *bursts into tears*

I agree with all of this, except the N!S. I was actually relieved, because EVERY IDEA I've heard about it sounds like such bullshit. They act like it'd be so hard to make a good film with her and it's just afsadlkfjasdlkfjds

I'm...mildly confused why you felt the need to bitch about them casting a white woman instead, but honestly? While I love GT, and I watched Cleopatra 2525 specifically for her, I'm not sure she suits the role of WW specifically.

There's something about her that makes me think of well...something like the role she played in Firefly, which doesn't really fit WW - at least, imo. -shrugs-

I love love Gina Torres, but my first pick for WW has always been Bridget Regan (she played Kahlan in Legend of the Seeker). Although, I could totally see Gina as Etta Candy, but change the character to an ex-marine/ex-cop who is assigned as some kind of liason from the US Government to Wonder Woman. It could be a Tony Stark/James Rhodes style friendship (and one that passes the Bechdel Test, duh).

I know this will never happen but I want to see a genderbent Steve Trevor... Stephanie Trevor?

Also, the skinny-shaming, almost-racism and general toxic girl hate in this thread is making me sad :( Wonder Woman is the antithesis of those things.
