As a whole, the Tales of Symphonia OVA from my opinion is just pretty animation. In fact, I like the Tales of Symphonia OVA if only for the fact the characteres have different facial structures if you look carefully where as in the in game animation sequences they didn't have as such. [Except Regal, Regal had that awesome chin that made me amused with him.] From an artistic standpoint, the Tales of Symphonia OVA was a lot more professionally done and had better quality.

I personally only see the OVA as a way to see our favorite characters animated, it's not to take seriously. It's just a way to milk the francise and get more pretty pictures in the Tales of Symphonia series, in similarity to the gig of Tales of the Abyss releasing the novels/the manga at the sametime.

If anything, I'm more interested in seeing characters I haven't seen animated and seeing the take on them. [Like Kvar, Magnius, Dirk, Forcystus, Pronyma, and Remiel. Maybe Rodyle and Yuan if we're lucky?] I know how the main party and main antagonist [Mithos Yggdrasill] is going to look but it's more of the interest of seeing how others will look and who make into it.

I-I'm so glad that my art actually got someone to like the pairing - I'm always afraid that it'll work the other way around and my pictures will only make people hate the pairing and the characters more!

11) Honestly? I love both the book The Count of Monte Cristo AND Gankutsuou. In all honesty, I thought the anime was fairly accurate to the book -- as accurate as it can be, taking place in the future. :X I mean, yeah, stuff was different, but the essential basics of the story were still there. (If you couldn't tell, I read the book first.)

THAT SAID, if anything, you'll hate the book because well... it's amazingly dull. And 238476923876928736587263860238745298 pages long.

I don't think the book will ruin the anime for you, though. 8D

Oh man. That book is SO VERY, VERY DULL. But it's one of those things you slog through once so that you can say you've read them and then cross off the list, never to pick up again, like Moby Dick and the unabridged version of Les Miserables.

I didn't know there was an anime, though. Is it any good?

14 I've been making the Star Wars prequels/FFVII Compilation comparison for a while, no one ever seems to agree with me. xD

But as a fan of both... it's not that Phantom Menace or Dirge ruined my love for the originals. It's that I simply hate them by themselves. Obnoxious awful money grubbing and retarded sequels/prequels that consist of directors too busy playing with pretty graphics to even remember what their original canon felt like don't make me hate the original of anything. I sort of feel that a lot of the fans who claim that the Compilation ruined FFVII for them are probably exaggerating things, or they weren't the biggest FFVII fans in the first place. Or perhaps they just haven't replayed it in too long, and they've forgotten why they liked it.

I'm replaying FFVII right now - I started just yesterday - for the first time in five years. And I love it just as much as ever.

I've made some of the FFVII secrets here, and I've participated in the discussions for them. And a lot of us Compilation haters don't hate the original game because of the Compilation. In fact, I even don't hate all of the Compilation. I sort of like CC. Actually, if Genesis weren't in it, I think I'd actually really like it. Maybe I just have a thing for the tragic prequels, because the only Star Wars prequel I liked was Revenge of the Sith.


18. You and me both. Not to the Gaston thing, but the guys my self-inserts fell in love with were usually the worst sort possible. And funny thing, my boyfriends always turn out to be that sort of guy once I get to know them better.

I just... get this impression, from secrets and from replies, that it's totally ruining some people's love for something, which is so sad. And it seems like they're taking it out on other people who do like it and are scaring off new fans, which is sad. Although I dislike the prequels, and it's kind of wtf when you meet someone who hasn't seen the original trilogy, my reaction to that is "oh, so you like Star Wars? Hey, me too! Let me show you these other three awesome movies..."

I did come into FFVII fandom through the new stuff, but like I said in my secret, I can totally understand how the old school fans feel, because I'm the same way with the original triology. I've just never been able to understand all the hatewaves radiating from people who seem to be SO OBSESSED with hating the compilation. It's kind of like "well, you don't like it, but it exists, so nothing's going to change that. plz to be moving on!" For me it was like -- OMG JarJar, Anakin says 'yippee,' pod-racing lasts forever, too many CGI fish, thus Phantom Menace DVD never sees light of day, and that was that.

Honestly, I think the only time when I got pissed at the prequels was when I was looking for good original trilogy stuff and everything was coming up Anakin/Obi-Wan. (And personally I don't mind money-grubbing so much because I love buying fandom merch, although I'm ashamed of it a bit. D: *looks at action figure shelf and poster collection and blushes*)

38) Here's my two cents. I love the pairing and it's my OTP for various reasons, one of which being that its not happy, and things dont turn out well for them. Sometimes love isn't happy, or nice or easy. Sometimes it's cruel and painful. It's called a tragedy or dramatic story.

And it really is just so easy to leave an abusive relationship when you love the person. Yep, people have never had trouble doing that... *rolls eyes* and I hardly think there are many people would would endorse Seishirou's treatment of Subaru. It's about the emotions their story envokes in the reader that makes it special to them. Sure it's not for everyone, but I think there are more sane people who are fans of the pairing than you seem to think? @.@

Most fans know the pairing is fucked up and that's why we like it. God forbid we take an interest in a pairing that isn't sugary and sweet.

btw, I find it hilarious that you like Subaru even though he's hopelessly in love with Seishirou. Since you hate fans for liking a fucked up pairing, shouldn't you also be hating Subaru for being fucked up himself? Because the biggest SeiSub supporter (besides Hokuto of course, but she's already dead in X so she doesn't count) is Subaru himself.
