Oh, old school Star Wars and FF7. Nice comparison. I'm a fan of both of those things, and while I don't like the new Star Wars trilogy, I love the FF7 compilation.

I'm exactly like you, though. I just ignore the new Star Wars stuff because I love the old trilogy so much. I'm not about to let something stupid ruin something that means so much to me.

11. I can't speak for Romeo x Juliet, but, and I've only seen like two episodes of Gankutsuou, but. I think it has to be taken with a grain of salt? It's anime. It's going to totally reinterpret what's going on. Though I think I heard Gankutsuou is faithful to the text in its own way? Either way, seriously, watch it for the fucking gorgeous art.

my love of Romeo and Juliet and The Count of Monte Cristo has made me curious about the anime versions. But usually when I really enjoy the book, I am not impressed by movie or tv show versions of them.

6. I hate to break it to you, but anime has very little great animation. It is, however, a thriving source of 2-D animation so hey I love it for keeping the artform alive and not falling back on using Flash.

4. Actually, I sort of agree. I'm not particularly bothered, since I don't care one way or anything about Gant, but I've never found it especially amusing either.

13. Fran/Adrian, I'm with you 100%. Lana/Mia...not so much. (I kind of feel like a terrible person for not liking it too.)

19. Diego/Mia is my GS het OTP, but these two are barely in second place. I love them like burning.

It was when I had to read part of Fear and Trembling for an Intro to Philosophy course. Basically, I saw Mytho as the Knight of Faith and Fakir as the Knight of Infinite Resignation. I actually ended up writing a paper about that, but the professor said it was too much about Princess Tutu, and not enough about Kierkegaard.
