I like this ship, even though it's barely on my radar. It seemed odd to me that the ship would invoke that reaction in you just because shipping characters who don't particularly like each (but who learn to respect each other) other is so common. Do ships like Kirk/Spock (from the new Trek, not TOS) cause the same reaction? Or, is there something about Bilbo and Thorin?

And yeah, the character design really isn't my thing either. I'm really picky about furry characters though so that might be it.
