Well, I thought of that too, but it occurred to me that they're probably talking about all the fic where a character gets raped, and falls in HAPPY FLUFFY LOVE with their rapist, that didn't involve any sort of psychological breaking, or any capture or torture other than the initial and unrelated rape. Because it took me a minute to recall that I'd seen stuff like that.

10. I really don't think many of them care whether it's interesting to you or not. They probably aren't talking about it for your sake, they're doing it for theirs, or the people they were talking with. Advertising, because they want to get these ideas down on paper/screen (this is the only reason why I would ever talk about my stories), or just because they can relate to what someone else has said via their fic.

At least I'm secure enough about who I am that I feel I can talk freely to my friends and others about what I like instead of 'reassuring myself' that it's okay to like fandom just because I don't participate in the 'lame' parts of it. If you don't like cosplay or RP, fine, but not being part of it doesn't make you BETTER than those who are.

7. I completely, completely agree. It especially makes me mad because lots of the Naruto fans I know only care about super popular anime, then act like they know EVERYTHING, and yet they don't even know what fucking Akira is.

It especially sucks when you hate Naruto and the anime you really love (Tenchi Muyo, Evangelion, Sailor Moon) go completely unnoticed by a huge chunk of the Naruto (and other popular anime) fans just because-god forbid-they're old. It grates my nerves so much.

It's not like I hate popular anime, that has nothing to do with it. I personally adore Fullmetal Alchemist, for instance. What gets to me is how ignorant a lot of the fans of the more popular anime are.

I try really hard to not act like an elitist because my favorite shows happen to be older, but I can't help but be disgusted by how blind they are to how much the stuff they loved has been influenced by older shows (that really deserve love). There's nothing wrong with the shows of today being influenced by older shows, hell, that's to be expected. And it's fine. But I feel like the fans should know that. =/

If, for instance, you don't know who Hayao Miyazaki is, please open your eyes and realize that anime exists beyond what showed last night on Cartoon Network.

(note: this doesn't apply so much to the internet as it does to people I meet IRL.)

Actually, I don't like the pacing. I like the arc, and I'm enjoying the story, I love Rukia's development and death, etc.

But the pacing was driving me crazy

right up until today's chapter made it all worth it. ♥

To be honest, I really dislike Naruto's art style and I don't care for it at all... but why the heck should it bother people that others do? You say you can't escape it, but hell, whenever it comes up, just skip it. God knows how many Harry Potter posts I have to skip past, but whatever, people will like what they like. Although, I think it's worse with Harry Potter because shit involving the books is freaking worldwide news.

The only time it really annoys me is when I see people IRL with those headbands, but then again, I am sure a good percentage of Naruto fans hate those people too.

Too big: I think that is sort of elitist and mean but I don't know, I could be a hypocrite in my thinking of this when meanwhile I feel that way about, say, fangirl japanese. OHAHAHA I AM A GEEK AND LOSER BUT AT LEAST I DON'T SAY NANI DESU KA? SESSHOUMARU-SAMA SO KAWAII~~~ ect. irl. (Yes I have met people who say things like that in real life. I wanted to end myself when I heard it.)

I might some day grow out of RP just like I did the KUSO BAKA NE (@__@;;) faze. Nowadays I lol over fangirl japanese so long as it's not in a message directed towards me. Then I headdesk and cry for humanity, but above all else I IGNORE the person doing it. Or put up with it because I want to be nice. It depends. There have been hatesecrets for all this chibi kawaii bishie talk in the past, and this isn't much different.

So what? You don't like RP. I like to RP because it's just as involving as writing a story on my own can be but more entertaining and productive (IMO) as I can see other people's writing as I develop my skills. If I'm just writing fic, I might not ever get practice with certain situations like I might in RP. But I don't really think that's too related, and I'm not going to try to convince you RP IS GODLY AND ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE IT IS A BIG FAGGOT!!!11

Going to second what a few people have said, though: just ignore it if it really bothers you so much. But I agree with random rping IN REAL LIFE being pathetic. I tend not to drag internet into my interactions with people in real life unless I'm goofing off with a certain friend of mine, but we're not loud about it either.

Much like fangirl japanese, you might grow out of it but it sure felt nifty while you were doing it, amirite? Just let everyone have their fun.
