Like I like to make fun of Benedict's look as much as the next person, but I can see how people might find him attractive in a reptilian sort of way...

Martin just looks like a moldy potato though.

Seriously, though, Martin Freeman just looks like a normal dude to me. Cumberbatch obviously has pretty distinctive features and a somewhat unusual look, but I don't really see the same with Freeman. Maybe he looks like a moldy potato but in a way that a lot of guys kind of do? I guess?

I really don't understand the whole "omg benedict cumberbatch (or whoever else) is ugly!" trend in F!S these days. Seriously, who cares if you think someone is unattractive? Why does it matter? Why are these even secrets?

Agreed on this. Unless it's got some major implications for one's sexuality or controversial kinks that makes OP's issues secret-worthy and kind of interesting, it's really kind of boring, imo. Oh well, at least it's an extra secret I guess, look at all the discussion it's generated.

I don't get it either. They're not secrets and they're pretty stupid to boot. If they're that invested in being so upset that some actor or actress doesn't meet their specs of hotness that they'd bother to make a secret about it, how far else does this quest for beauty in others extend into their lives? Is it only important for actors, or do other professions have to meet that standard as well? Do they come home from the store disappointed that none of the cashiers met their standards of attractiveness? It seems a silly thing to focus on.

Yea, to me Martin looks like a regular guy, and Benedict has unusual features that don't appeal to everyone, but is a bit more eye catching.

I still think Martin is attractive though, but of course not everyone is going to.

I mean, I don't find Martin Freeman particularly attractive, but he's conventional-looking. All his facial features are pretty much exactly where facial features go. Whereas (an this is just a personal opinion here, I don't mean to channel ugly!anon) I've always felt like Benedict Cumberbatch has odd lumps and bumps in places on his face that conventional human anatomy cannot explain. His face is confusing to me. I'm not bothered that other people think he's attractive and I'm sure he's a perfectly nice person, but my brain just sort of goes, "???" when I look at him. Martin Freeman, on the other hand, just looks like some guy.

Martin Freeman is just like a normal-looking dude you'd bump into on the bus or see at a bar. He's average & there's nothing at all wrong with that.
