But, yeah, someone needs to tell Jared to take a breather on twitter. Twitter isn't a confession booth where what is said there stays there. Wait, that's Vegas. Anyway, same idea. Twitter is rather a bullhorn hooked up to two story speakers. If you are an actor, what you say there can hurt your career. If he doesn't want to start burning bridges, he needs to step back for a while.

And I honestly thought Jared was amazing during the Gadreel arc. The switch between "Ezekiel"/Sam? Holy shit. And during season seven? And as Lucifer? Damn.

I get all the other tweets but I don't understand why the last one is offensive. It is stupid to throw your life away to drugs, especially when you're in your 40s and should probably know better on account of life experience.

I'm glad I never followed Jared on twitter. Back when I was in the fandom I remember watching con footage and thinking he seemed like the sweetest, goofiest guy, and it's disappointing to realize he's kind of an asshole.

(At the same time I think most these tweets make him sound pretty 'normal'. I've seen and heard much worse in both RL and fandom so it's not like this is unusual, but it is disappointing. Oh well...actors are people too, this is why no one should put them on a pedestal.)

I feel like you OP so I try fairly hard to avoid anything about him online. He seems like an egotistical ignorant child.

He's a father in his thirties regularly excused for his behaviour with "he's just a giant puppy", as if the reason we excuse puppies for pissing on the carpet and breaking things isn't that they're literally incapable of understanding consequences.

I understand that I don't actually know him, but I judge his public behaviour the same way I evaluate that of similar people in my life, and I avoid those people because I don't like wasting my time on people who I can't trust to exercise basic empathy.

ETA: it's not that I think he's a "bad person", more that I'm sensitive on a good day and don't need this kind of thoughtlessness in my life.

I've followed that twitter since he got it and honestly don't remember him saying all this crotchety, hostile stuff before he started having kids. Some people can't adapt to parenthood without suddenly acting like they're about forty years older and needing to tell you every questionable observation they have about how the whole world has gone crazy. I don't think it really rises to the levels you're raging about, but he appears to be going down the path of Uncle So-and-So You Only Talk To On Facebook Or At Thanksgiving. And I don't know where you're getting flat-faced when he has the pointiest nose on television.

SPN was my first TV fandom, so it was also my first experience of actors from a show getting as much attention as characters. Most of them annoy me for one reason or another, but if anything, it's made me better at separating my enjoyment of a show from my dislike of the actors.
