Damn, yes. Especially since it seems to be so common by now that a lot of people just drop it into their fic like "It's almost a canon fact that really shouldn't bother anyone so deal with it".

I'm not a fan of Jotunn!Loki, at all. It must be the blue/red combo that weirds me out so much. And the raised skin. I'm usually doomed to skipping most fics that feature him so prominently in that form.

I'm talking for myself here, but it seems so weird to me that so many fics focus solely on his jotunn!form since we have barely seen it in the movies. On the other hand most of my favorite fics ever feature him even as Jotunn, because well, of course it's what he is so it would be unfair to write that out completely, characterization wise.

Btw, my love for the The Broken Saga and the Song Unsung knows no bounds. I reread it the other day and I needed to gush about it to someone...

I don't care either way about the intersex thing, but I am like what artists have done with Jotun Loki. In the movie, Loki's Jotun form looked TERRIBLE compared to the other ones we saw. The cgi always pulls me out of the moment.

Nope, I'm miffed because that's not how he looks in the canon and some people seem to treat the fanon form as his canon form.

And for the record, I'm also a fan of Homestuck (I'm super down with MCU fusion crossovers!).

... My main problem with Loki's Jotunn form is that if your skin colour is navy, you really shouldn't wear dark green and gold with it. Admittedly, though, that wasn't his fault.

This possibly says a lot about my priorities.

A lot of Jotun Loki artworks I have seen (excluding ones where he stays in his Asgardian form 99% of the time), changes his outfits to different more complementary colors.

I think the most interesting thing about Loki's appearance is that he's a shape-shifter, so at any given time, he genuinely looks like he wants to look. I feel like the Jotun form is pretty out of character to depict him in if he's in it voluntarily, because even when he's at his angriest at Odin/Thor/Asgard, he's still looking like an Asgardian. Hell, when he does the fake double cross thing in Thor 2 and is all "I'm Loki, of Jotunheim!", he still doesn't use the Jotun form. So IDK, Jotun!Loki always looks so weird to me.

And even when he was presenting the 'real', prisoner version of him, his form was Asgardian. I think that's very telling.

I'm not a fan of the intersex thing either, but usually people are good with their tags so I don't really encounter it on purpose.

In addition to your secret, I have a massive problem with him revealing his Jotunn form in general in MCU fic. It's usually done as a plot point to show whoever he's paired with is accepting of his "monstrous" form but tbh I can't even see Loki himself accepting it easily so even though I've seen some very well written acceptance scenes, I still struggle to believe it. I know this is definitely a YMMV thing.

OOh yes, this. Whenever a fic like that pops up all I can think of is "I can only suspend my disbelief for so long, stop trying to push me by having Loki accidentally slip into his Jotunn form because of ~reasons~ and having the scene end with a little crying and a few reassuring hugs!"

I... kinda like the intersex thing. I like vaginas and cocks in my porn, but I usually don't care for boobs or women.

And transmen porn is extremely hard to find in fics.

So it's like the best of both worlds.

I'm not fond of it myself, but one of my friends cosplayed as jotun!Loki, and according to her, she based it more off of comic verse+someone's art, rather than the movie, and she look pretty awesome, so I'm torn.

I'm not in the movie fandom nor am I that well-versed in comics Loki, so could someone please show me a pic of Jotunn Loki in the comics? I googled it and found a whole bunch of fanart as described in the secret instead.

I was skimming through the secrets and then I stopped at this one because I thought the two little pictures were supposed to be Chiss.
Then I realized it was just some Loki bs.

I kinda don't mind the intersex thing anymore. I like reading Jotunn!Loki fic from time to time, so I'd rather deal with the intersex thing than narrow down my choices. Besides, most writers know how to tag that stuff. That helps too.

The horns though... Yeah, yeah, the Jotunn are intersex, whatever, I can roll with that, but for some reason I can't picture Loki with horns. Even if the author mentions them several times during the course of the fic.

This is pretty much why I'm not really a fan of fanon!jotun Loki, it's nothing like the movie version and I barely see any art of that version either. I don't mind the intersex thing so much, but not all the time.

Re: his Jotunn form, I don't think Loki's helmet is the main reason people write him with horns. The rest of the Jotunns are much craggier looking than the Loki in your pic. Also, his transformation when he touches the casket is fairly gradual, and then he gets interrupted by Odin, potentially before the transformation's complete. Combine those two factors, and you have a plausible explanation for why he might actually have a more typical Jotunn form--including horns--even though he looks like a cross between a Jotunn and an Asgardian in that one canonical scene.
