Re: do women who aren't SJWs really think this?

It's a weird question because he has the money, I have the pizza and there's really nothing else needed to exchange here, but I'd probably just brush it off.

Excellent (recent) HP authors?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-01 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't been in the fandom much recently, but I've been having a lot of cravings. Who out there is writing really, really good Harry Potter fics, currently or in the past two/three years? Slash recs would be awesome, but anything that's top-quality is appreciated.

I, uh, don't come here often, sorry if I'm doing it wrong.

I accidentally did a pagestretch. Please delete so I can repost it as a second comment instead? http://fandomsecrets.dreamwidth.org/970371.html?thread=726166403#cmt726166403

I don't really understand what you're asking.

How's the First Day of Spring for You?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-01 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it spring-y there where you are? And what have you been doing?

It is really spring-y here. The sun was shining and it was warm today. There's still some ice on the ground, but other than that you can really feel spring in the air. I've been out on walks today, just enjoying the weather.
Right now, I'm watching Top Gear and finishing up my RP-maps!
(I am the Dragon Age RP-anon from last week, thanks a bunch again two anons and Loracarol and Cassandraoftroy for helping me, I have got it alll figured out, yay)

Kids can pay for pizza, so even if your not offended, you should still mock him for his weak ass game.

The first day of spring is...not yet. It's sunny here though.

Sometimes, good or bad, the sequel fucks it up. It was a spin off. It was just not good, it was I will eventually show a "sequel does it better" awesomestream. But Saturday, 6pm, you are getting THE SEQUEL SUCKS

As a warm up, The time they ignored the fact there are just too many damn sharks in the water JAWS 3D (not in 3d)

Then, showing us we don't need anything from the movie that actually, you know, made the movie work... THE MASK II

And then, the real Gem. One of the worst movies ever... MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION

Even the cast is laughing at this shit.

I'm thinking maybe dark night returns xxx for the porn but... that's kinda lame even if sorta a sequel. Ideas? Doesn't have to be straight.

Tommorow 6pm est! Here!

Not too much into Star Trek, but I love shipping fanfic cliches and anyone saying otherwise can pry them from my cold dead fingers.

Re: do women who aren't SJWs really think this?

I can't tell what part you're objecting to. My opinion after skimming is that calling a grown woman a little girl is condescending, even if she looks young. Though if I were in OP's shoes, I'd probably just look at the guy awkwardly and not say anything (which usually makes men feel awkward themselves).

I like both sometimes. Just depends on the cliche and on the original idea.

So let's try this again

There may just be some truth in the saying that art is condensed unhappiness. Not necessarily "an escape", but I've often noticed that art is used by many as a way to get rid of their misery.

I'd be slightly resentful, too, if something like this happened to me. I've never experienced this - IDK, maybe I'm too troubled a person and I've never really been happy (which is a disturbing thought) - but it sure would be a pity if my being happy meant my not writing any fanfic/meta.

Still, I'm very glad you are in a good place, and I think that ultimately, it's the only thing that matters. Happiness>>>>>the ability to write fanfic, always.

He IS majorly fuckable. A friend of mine is mostly attracted to girls and only attracted to, like, three male actors and he's one of them.

1) Central black character, who so far isn't a stereotype.

2) Yakuza are potrayed as violent thugs/not glamorised.

3) Non-Japanese characters bitch about Japans mon-culture, and useless police - and are shown to be right.

4) Strong female characters(tm) who aren't sexualised

5) Fetishistic attention to detail on drawing gear.

6) 90% of the heroes are non-Japanese.

7) Near future sci-fi tech-nonsense

8) Just the right amount of conspiracy, terrorist, gangster shit.

Yiiiiis

You randomly picked anything up that has hit all your favourite things fandom secrets?

I wrote this thing about a year ago

(Anonymous) 2014-03-01 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a bunch of papers and shit to write and I was procrastinating the fuck out of them, so I wrote this dumb song thingy. I just ran across it again and was like "heh, this is amusing, if stupid. I should, like, share it with people or something."

-----

Let's get down to business
Papers I must write
Put them off too long and
Now they're due tonight
And I haven't even started yet
But you can bet that I'll pull through
I will hand in my work when it's due

My procrastination
I have yet to break
Wonder how much longer
I'll remain a flake
I've been playing games instead of work
But now this I swear to you
Somehow I'll do my work 'fore it's due

I'm never gonna get this done
Say goodbye to all of my night
Man, it isn't cool when schoolwork takes this long
Write four papers one by one
How am I to do that by night?
And I'm wasting more time making up this song

(Get it done)
I must write swiftly upon my keyboard
(Get it done)
With all the knowledge I have so far
(Get it done)
Must be tenacious and perserverant
Until the night sky displays its first bright star

Time is racing toward me
Can't afford to fail
I've no motivation
But I must prevail
I'm not suited for hard work galore
And if my grade tanks I'm through
How can I do my work 'fore it's due?

(Get it done)
I must write swiftly upon my keyboard
(Get it done)
With all the knowledge I have so far
(Get it done)
Must be tenacious and perserverant
Until the night sky displays its first bright star

(Get it done)
I must write swiftly upon my keyboard
(Get it done)
With all the knowledge I have so far
(Get it done)
Must be tenacious and perserverant
Until the night sky displays its first bright star

My opinion is the same. If he said it in a creepy tone or something, I'd find it creepy, but as it's written it's just...no, don't call me a little girl when I'm clearly older than 9.

I thought of you too.

I've seen you defend Cat and you never came across to me as mean while doing it.

As long as you're not actually being a jerk then I don't see an issue.

Like everyone else, I'm not exactly sure which part you mean, but I would be annoyed and mildly creeped out if someone called me "little girl" and asked me where my parents were. Cause that's just weird.
