Thank you. The only cartoon I still watch from the 90's is The Powerpuff Girls and Recess.
Now Live Action, that was still fabulous in the 90's.

Well if the 90s and earlier cartoons have anything over today's modern cartoons, I personally think that those cartoons mostly had more interesting/catchy theme songs, they also feel like they had a bit more heart in them when the singers sang the songs. That isn't to say that modern cartoon theme songs suck, but I honestly feel that at least for the ones with lyrics, they lost that heart their predecessors had.

I'm right there with you anon, anyone who says cartoons crapped out after the 90s is wrong. They crapped out after the 1980s! Or, nostalgia makes them better (yeah, maybe need to turn up the nostalgia filter a couple of notches). I think most 90s toons were crap, but that's just 'cause I aged out of their demographic at that point. I've reached the point where I can circle back and watch some of the current toons for fun again though. Children, the main reason for having them is so you have an excuse to watch toons again.

It's hard for me to imagine anyone saying that and expecting to be taken seriously, because cartoons today are fucking amazing.

Like, I've gone back and watched a few Animaniacs episodes. I thought that show was THE SHIT when it was airing.

It is not as funny as I remember it being.

Meanwhile, there has been a steady stream of crazy ambitious, dramatic/hilarious/both animation over the past ten years or so, and shit just seems to be getting better.

So yeah, I guess I agree with you.

I don't know cartoons from Adam these days, but...man, do I hate '90s nostalgia. It drives me bonkers.

It wasn't that long ago, you guys. I know it's surreal and a little scary that 30 is in sight, but we're still pretty damn young. Calm down.

Heh, some of my coworkers were discussing how there's 'nothing good on tv any more' just today and long story short, I kinda wanted to smack them over their heads. Of COURSE it will appear to you as if there's no good cartoons on tv now, you make no secret that you don't like watching animated things nowadays. But you did as a kid. So OBVIOUSLY, 90's cartoons will look better to you than modern ones. That doesn't mean they're worse now! Sheesh.

I haven't seen more than an episode at most of any of these so I can't really speak to the quality of the actual shows themselves or their technical sophistication... but the art styles on all but the bottom left and maybe the top right are extremely offputting for me.

I may not know quality animation, but I know I don't like how these look.
