Well, I'd say bass has one cord less than guitars have and I'm thinking the cord's material is different to obtain the lower sound. And they are played a bit differently of course, yes.

From what I know it's pretty easy to go from one to the other. I only play piano myself, but my brother plays bass and guitar (and pretty much anything with cords in it, but that's because of his line of work) pretty well and he didn't ever need to take bass lessons or anything, he just came from guitar and learned on his own.

Someone who plays guitar for real (not like me who only ever play it for fun once in a while) will surely help a lot more. :)

Mine is that I'm looking for Hurt/Comfort fics with a whole lot of really intense, traumatic hurt stuff but still an at least relatively happy ending with some awesome comfort.

I'm really into Steve/Bucky right now, but really I'll take recs for any fandom and pairing.

Before anyone asks: yes, I was one of those people who liked Squall in FFVIII. Sure, he's broody in a teenage way, but that's because he's a teenager. (Truth be told, I liked him more than Rinoa--my love for female leads isn't absolute, and Rinoa didn't seem like she had much to her.)

I think it's rather hilarious that the backup dancers who, in most Western videos would be wearing basically a thong and bra, are *totally covered*, neck to toes, and are pretty much the least-sexy thing in the video.

It is...a very odd video. I think my daughter would have liked it when she was eight.

what are your favorite classics?

fandom as a whole doesn't seem to be very fond of classics, which is a shame, because that's all i read (that, and hard sci-fi, which somehow has a bigger fanbase). one could argue that the ever popular sherlock holmes series could be considered a classic, but i don't agree.

anyway, my personal favorites are of mice and men, all the king's men, 1984, manhattan transfer and the stranger.

You do realize that if Nth generation Asian-Americans went to Japan with the attitude of "I am Japanese just like you" they would be laughed all the way back to the US. That is after they feel insulted that this American was dumb enough to actually say that out loud to their faces.

What's one of your favorite, lesser-known books? I noticed that when people ask me for recs, I usually end up naming stuff they've already heard of. So, variety! Go!

also I just watched GOT and I basically want a book solely about Brienne so if anyone has any recs for books about lady knights, that would be awesome.

One of my RL friends is having a hard time with something, and posted about it on facebook without details. Both me and my mom have friended her, so about a half hour after RL Friend post her thing, Mom calls me and starts interrogating me like I should know every single thing that is going on. I have no clue! I don't know anymore than Mom does. I understand she's concerned I am too, but I'm not going to be the first person RL Friend comes to with distressing stuff, and I don't like to pry into things. Mom has known me my entire life obviously and has known RL Friend since I was in junior high, she should know what we're like by now, yet she always does this.

This is a less important aggravation, but I have several fics I really want to finish and it's just not happening. On top of that I keep getting ideas for other fics like a Bed and Breakfast AU. Is that even a thing? I know there are bakery AUs, but I've never heard of a Bed and Breakfast AU.

And finally We've has a lot of rain here, most of it has ended up in the crawlspace under my house. I finally got done draining it but I fully expect more water to be in there tomorrow, and we're supposed to get rain, and storms all freaking week. I hate this time of year.

I could unload a million bookmarks of awesome Bucky/Steve h/c fics, but then you would probably have to read them all in one sitting and your life would be ruined. I can't take responsibility for this. :P

I lost all respect for them after they went off on two white girls in yukatas, even after it was pointed out that one of the girls was wearing a yukata that she got as a gift from her host family in Japan, and the other girl was wearing a yukata IN JAPAN FOR A JAPANESE FESTIVAL.

I will look for the links for you, if you'd like, but admittedly it was a while ago, and on tumblr, so I completely understand if you don't believe me.

I have a friend who desperately needs cash, so he's set up commissions. I'm planning to order a few, spaced out, for as much as I can spare, but I felt bad because the person is in Europe and euros are worth more than dollars, so what might have been a very helpful amount of money here isn't quite as much over there.

Today I found out that not everyone uses euros, and in fact some places, such as where my friend lives, still use pounds. A $25 commission from me probably won't even pay for lunch. Fuck. I hate money.
