I love these apology sheets; they're the best.

That said, I kind of understand how you feel. I always think, "If I talk about this character or pairing too much then I'm going to put people off it", but at the same time...people can skip my comments if it annoys them that much.

(I feel the same way about tumblr, tbh. When I first joined tumblr I tried to not reblog too much of any one fandom for fear it might anger people, then I realized it was my blog and if they didn't like it they would probably just unfollow me.)

I guess there's a difference between "obsessively stanning" and just reblogging shittons of stuff. I mean, people *can* get sick of things just from sheer volume, but that's their fault, and it's far more likely for people to get sick of things that all have some kind of grating attitude -- obsessive, smug, exclusionary, overwrought, dismissive of other things, etc. Particularly when it comes to fans who have certain metas and headcanons that they keep slapping onto everything as if it was canon.

This is why I hate the demise of message boards and community blogs such as LJ.

Fandom isn't long text interactions anymore. It's obsessively hitting people over the head with things, ala tumblr.

Which means it's impossible, basically, to avoid something you don't want. For example, you COULD "Sebastian Stan" if you're in the Avengers fandom and don't want to deal with him anymore, but that means any general tWS or FA posts will disappear too. In the old days of fandom you'd simply skip over the posts were people were flailing, or head to a different community. Now everything is a lump.

Blah.

Still deciding on the secret, since I often find that people who think other people are "obsessively shipping" are really just supporting a pairing they don't like.

However, with the worst of the worst, I do agree with you. There are people who have made me hate my own OTPs. ^^;

Sorry, what does 'stanning' mean? Is this a tumblr-only vocabulary and its meaning not to be disclosed to outsiders?
