This secret made me tear up a little. I really admired McKay (even though I stopped watching at the S3 hiatus when I heard the S4 spoilers) and I never realized why until I read this.

23: Haha, you know his stupid expressions in that kind of cheered me up. I admit, I don't even like Atlantis as much as SG1 (when it was good, that is) but I love McKay. He's the main reason I watch it. I understand. He's awesome.

LOL really?

Even the craptacular stuff I've seen usually gets some comments if it's in marginally comprehensible English. DGM fandom is notorious for its low standards. Most of the fic blows, but people comment and then the badficcers write more. :(

Please note, however, that it is a smallish fandom, so you can't expect to get a fuckton of comments on a typical basis. If tons of comments are what you're looking for, maybe this fandom isn't for you, fic-writing-wise.

But if you're reasonably certain your fic doesn't blow, you should TOTALLY WRITE SOME GOOD GOD WE NEED MORE FIC PLZ.

I'm fairly sure it won't blow, but I'm also fairly sure that my current fandom has lower standards than DGM does. -shrug- I'll probably write something eventually anyways. After I get an icon.

1. =/ Eh. I mean, on one hand, I can't blame you. the people who spend hundreds of dollars on doujin and dolfies and other merch just .. boggle my mind. like galdkjah why D: BUT on the other hand. people without a lot of money to burn are still allowed to indulge in hobbies once in a while, right? unless you're just talking about people who spend excessive amounts on fandom STUFF and .. THEN complain about being broke. at which point they're just dumb 8D and need to learn impulse control.

still. guess it depends on what you mean by "someone in fandom," because "someone in fandom" != someone who spends a ton of MONEY on fandom, necessarily. so. just sayin'.

20 - I lean more toward Baralai as a character, because there's a little more to him. But not much, because FFX-2 just.... lacked, sadly. I think the Crimson Squad plot could have really been something, especially perhaps if it had been part of a different Final Fantasy game. It could have been told and developed better. I feel like Paine, Gippal, Nooj and Baralai were all wasted potential, unfortunately. It's a real shame.

29 - I'm really sorry to hear how badly you were treated! That's so very odd, and just, generally, uncool. That being said, I'm quite curious as to why you dislike him. I assure you I won't flip out! But he's generally a well received character, I find, so I was surprised to see this!

But really, I'm sorry that people reacted so badly. I don't understand that kinda attitude as all.

29. To be completely and bluntly honest with you, I think he's a flat, cliched character with anger and personality issues. =/ I just don't see the appeal in a character that speaks in CAPSLOCK! 70% of the time, rages for no reason and has no redeeming qualities.

Yeah, there's no need to remind me how well received he is, trust me. >______

I know what you mean! I do think Roy/Ed would never ever work in canon - but it's so hot, and I LOVE them as a pairing (I even got my guy friend to yaoi cosplay as Roy to my Ed ::G::)

I just always thought Winry would be so much better off with Al. He'd treat her so much better :(

I totally agree with you! (about Al and Winry) I haven't read the manga in a while and I've kind of moved on to different fandoms now, but AlxWinry is my favourite Winry ship. Al's such a sweetheart!

I know how that is even with non-fandom. It's always confounded me how people can just blow their money carelessly on brand name clothes, new electronic gadgets, or a shiny new car that costs half their year's salary, and then they dare to get frustrated about their credit card bills, as if it's not their fault.

It can be really tempting to get a lot of these things, but if you're buying superfluous hobby stuff with money you should spend on food, it really irritates me.

Then, I've always been in awe of how my friends seem to manage have huge collections of manga or dvds, all bought on a whim at their full shelf prices. Most of them got it from their parents' money and are just used to getting tons of stuff, whereas I've always gotten my comics from the library.

30) Yes. It's shonen. Shonen doesn't tend to be 'deep' and 'meaningful' but that doesnt mean shonen can't be good. I think Reborn is a pretty good shonen series all considered, and after the first chuck it really picks up pace and is quite fun, and isn't entirely predictable. Some interesting shit goes down XD!

8. I totally agree with this, and I think it's because both points in the series really round him out. Zuko's a dumb teenager who is confused about where he wants his life to go, not a one dimensional cut-out villain. I appreciate that.
