I can't help but wonder why anyone would shun you for liking a popular, award-winning, and truly hilarious show. Out of curiosity, are these the sort of people who hold anything that's popular in snooty disregard?

That and they're the sort of people who think that it's 'demeaning to women' and 'ridiculous fantasy catering to lonely and desperate middle aged women who should realize life isn't all about men and clothes anyway' and a bunch of stupid stuff like that. (Oh, and it's racist because all four of them are white.)

I'd wager a lot of money that not one of them has seen a single episode. Those four are some of the strongest fictional women I've seen on TV, and they don't demean a frelling thing.

KHR started out as crackcomedy, for sure! And for some people, who prefer the ... not crackcomedy, well, it doesn't fly! And there are plenty of people who would find Baccano! not to their tastes either XD;

I'm glad you like Baccano! It's an amazing series and I hope that the novels will someday be translated ♥ buuut I'm also a Reborn! fan and have to say it would be nice to love a series without hating on another, right?

'Sides, Reborn takes on some darker elements later, and sheds some of the crackcomedy. (Which, is definitely debatable for some people who started the series for that |D)

I'm a big fan of cartoons and nothing annoys me more than Japanophiliac snobs who fap all over anime but shun Western animation for no reason at all, especially when there are a number of brilliant cartoons on American TV right now. (Though, Ben 10? Blech!! Sorry, just a personal dislike of mine. XD; )

Totally agree with vermultitude on this one. Is it bad to like KHR? I am a fan of both series and they are two completely different series, it's like comparing apples to oranges, they both deal with the mafia, but are completely different.

Baccano! is an amazing show. KHR actually has a plot now. xD

1. Haha, I'd love to spend money on fandom things, but I'm really pragmatic about buying things that just look pretty. If I had extra money flowing out of my pockets, I'd snap up some doujins in a flash. I know a friend who spends money on BJDs, but that's because she has the money to actually buy them and not go broke. Don't they teach priorities in school?
9. It sucks when you start to really believe in a crack pairing and you come to realization that it won't be canon. At least you have a lot of fanon? Hope the sentiment doesn't die here since I'm a EdWin shipper...

18. I-I'm amazed! No one has claimed that Avatar is really 'anime'! Or if there was, I haven't paid enough attention. Cartoons, anime, they're all the same at heart; I'll never understand why there's such a huge rift between them. It's not like liking anime makes you any better. This superiority complex in some anime fans is really exasperating.
29. Wow. Get better friends, seriously. I've told my friends I hate Fruits Basket and they absolutely love it, but they respected my opinion (if not with a grain of salt).

1. Since I've gotten sick and haven't been able to work, nearly all the money I have or get from medical assistance goes to paying the minimum payment on a maxed out credit card that I used for spending on fandom stuff. Believe me, I won't be buying anything other than necessities for a loooong time. :|

9. Haha! I remember those days; back when there were only, like, 100 fics on ff.net. Good times. But even then I was into Elricest, despite Armor!Al. I'd read Roy/Ed occaisionally when it was meant as crack but now... eeesh. And like you I'm disappointed that the manga is going in the direction of Ed/Win. I can appreciate Ed/Win, but it just doesn't do it for me. But at least there's always the anime/movie 'verse. xD

19. Yeeks, if you're really her teacher that can cause some serious problems should you two ever get close. Something like that happened in my state and it was aaalllll over the news.
