1. This made me really sad. I'm sorry for your loss.
2. Tim Gunn is pretty much my hero. ...It's really too bad that he'd probably hate every single item of clothing I own. Oh Tim.
19. Oh hell yes, I agree with this sentiment.
20. If you submit a secret to F!S you run the risk of being laughed at and attacked. It is just to be expected, sort of like jumping into a pool of hungry sharks while bleeding heavily.
40. Uh.

Don't worry. So long as you refrain from looking too matchy-matchy, I think Mr. Mentor will be sweet enough to let you off the hook ;)

15. No, you aren't the only one. D:

Personally all the live action shows they have on Adult Swim, suck..

[identity profile] tealizard.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
1:

There's not much I can say. Except... *hug*

[identity profile] warpuff.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
7. Agreed. Less fanservice would be awesome.

14. B-but. SIMCA. ;A;

23. O-OTP. I love KonaGami. Sorry you feel that way. ;~~;

OP 23

(Anonymous) 2007-12-22 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw no it's ok. I can see why people pair it (cause it is really cute). I just find it a tad urking o.o

(Anonymous) 2007-12-18 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
14. Simca's more manipulative than Ringo? You're certainly not up to date!
blackhearts: (molotov has been exploding things.)

[personal profile] blackhearts 2007-12-18 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
015. I liked Tom Goes To The Mayor, because it was so hilariously awkward, and I liked the guest stars (especially Michael Ian Black and Sarah Silverman), but Awesome Show Great Job! is terrible. I mean, I guess it has its moments, but they are few and far between.

36

[identity profile] bemysty.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even mind that THAT much... if they only wrote IC. But no one ever does, not even in Mylar (where it's really fucking easy to stay IC, seeing it's damn near canon. Just write their interaction like canon et voila! No problem!)... I'm so fed up with fluffy!Sylar.

was commenting to agree with 36- but i think I agree with you more.

14. Eh, agreed. Ringo was much more likeable. but for that matter, I think Kururu tops anyone in sweetness.

[identity profile] the-murderer.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
41.- Yeah, over the past year the same happened to me, more or less. Ever since then I've been leaning more and more towards genfic and find it very hard to start writing romance/action again.

It's for the same reason as you; I think normal situations bring out the character more, same as common chatter and interaction seems to develop them better than romance - 'course, depends on how you handle it and all that.

[identity profile] ebony-creme.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
@ 2: You chose bad pictures there. That fashion style can look good, when the right clothes are on the right people with he right make-up. No one's forcing you to wear it, so I don't see what your problem is.

(Anonymous) 2007-12-18 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* You can make that point about practically everything, except commercial items people are trying to sell.

[identity profile] pimmy.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
33. Tracy ahh needs more love *A*

[identity profile] dorknessrising.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
35. Hmm...I've always wanted a look into the mind of a badfic author. Who knew F!S could be so educational!

34. I will never get over how crazy Calhoun's hair is, and this doesn't help. Meanwhile, I hadn't seen Webster, and he looks frighteningly like someone I know. Huh.

Pretty OT3 worthy in the end, tho. Props. :D

[identity profile] wondermilky.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
14: Don't follow the series but Ringo is a million times hotter than Simca for sure. XD
34: I'd like a sitcom like that.

26 & 40

[identity profile] akastreakychan.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
26: I think you should be open about who you are anyway. If somebody just writes you off as a fandom asexual, then too bad for them. You know who you are, and that's what matters.

40: I'm bi, and I think it's annoying. Any writing where the author uses a character as their personal soapbox is. Plus, making homosexual characters closet themselves and undergo all sorts of horrific consequences for who they are in a story that's pro-gay seems a little... counterproductive.

[identity profile] sarajayechan.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Not Fandom: There's a difference between faking for attention and letting your flist know you're honestly scared you might be seriously ill.

33. Tracey! ♥

40. Like, WORD. Honestly, I know coming out and homophobia is an issue in some canons, and sometimes you have no choice but to address it (prime example being noble types falling for their own sex when they're obligated to marry a man/woman and have heirs), but there's a way to address it without turning it into OMG WE HAVE TO HIDE OUR RELATIONSHIP/WE MUST FIGHT THE EVOL OPPRESSORS WHO WISH TO OPPRESS OUR GAY!!!.

41. Hey, I like slice-of-life scenes better than action and fighting ones too. XD

Not Fandom

(Anonymous) 2007-12-18 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
i know. but so many other fan fiction authors have pulled the 'i have a horrible disease' and everythings awful' scam to get popular or use their fandom status to get things that i'm just so afraid i'll be accused of doing the same thing. DX

20) I'm judging you right now. Welcome to the internet, have a cookie.

26) Is that a pic of Shinji and Asuka? If it is, it's a really great pic. (Fanart?) The poor kid really needs to get laid. And not by his hand, either.

[identity profile] haleysings.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I *just* finished the Evangelion TV series last night, and while I don't think that's Shinji and Asuka...I do agree with the 'poor kid" sentiment. XD

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel you pain. Mine's OTP's. Every OTP I have is a bag of angst. So the handful that aren't I'm oh so very worried about.

2.

[identity profile] glamourcorpse.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
2. Isn't that MOST fashion if we're being honest? Like any fashion trend no one should really wear a whole ensemble of those pieces on a daily basis. Even Japanese people don't. It's for clubbing, it's for fun, it's for whatever. I understand about the look as a sub culture being a little...ookie, but as some one who likes the aesthetics it's based on (mainly edwardian, victorian and fetish), I can't see to much fault in it, atleast no more then any other stupid thing people put on their bodies.

Okay, enough rambling!

Re: 2.

(Anonymous) 2007-12-18 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to think so too, but then I went for a walk on the wild side in the seedy underbelly of the loli subculture. It is most definitely both a financial drain and considered srs bizness.

2. I want a bracelet that says WWTGD.

14. =/ I don't either. I like Kururu. ;;

15. The most retarded fucking thing I've ever seen. Ever. I refuse to watch it or anything related to them. Ugh. FOAD, Adult Swim, for the crap you put on Sundays.

32. HEY, me too! =D Before I had fandom, I was perfectly capable of finding things to do that weren't studying.

[identity profile] luzerna.livejournal.com 2007-12-18 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
40. I agree with you so fucking much. One thing that annoys me beyond belief is that they're preaching to the goddamned choir; this is the internet, people. This is the place where Christians fear getting jumped on because there are others out there who automatically associate the religion with homophobic bigotry. You will get beaten to a bloody pulp and be chased out of your forum/game/whatever if you actually display such a behaviour. We love gays.

The only reason I can think of, then, is that they are just reassuring themselves that it's okay to want to do the horizontal tango with the same sex once in a while. In which case the fanfics sound suspiciously like masturbation.

Ahhh... I have had this conversation a million times with an asexual friend of mine-- I was hypersexual, she was asexual, and I admittedly found it pretty easy to comprehend something so the opposite of me. Because it was, you know, the opposite. There always have to be opposites, right?

But anyway, it's not just fandom. People in general don't want to believe that asexuals exist, because to them, that's way more unnatural than homosexuality-- if they're the sort that thinks homosexuality is unnatural. Which I think sucks. Asexuality is just as valid as anything else, imho.

It's not you, it's just a lot of people have absolutely no idea how to even try to understand something outside of their own experience and/or desires.

I had a very wanky paragraph that was more fandom targeted to put after this, but I cut it. Let's just say, good for you being what you are, and don't let the bastards get you down.

yeah yeah, tl;dr.
