4. Whoever you are, I love you. I just finished reading that book for the eleventh time a few days ago--it's such an amazing book.

25 and 32

[identity profile] pariah164.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
25) I've never seen the UK version, so I can't say I liked the US version better or worse. All I CAN say is that I liked it. Even Drew Carey was funny on that show. (I swear to God, anyone who wants to give me shit for that last statement, shut up, I don't care. 8D)

32)... lol what. You have a straaange definition of the female frame. Your red line is also fail. She looks cute! Stop trying to fucking make her a supermodel/Barbie or whatever. FAT ASS =/= OVERWEIGHT. Lurk moar. :|

[identity profile] youmusteatit.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
32. I just read that text that was flipped to the side. That's NOT overweight.

18

[identity profile] swordsncarrots.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
18. Hell no, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! I ship a lot of those too, and it's hella great!

32

[identity profile] kamina.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
You're an idiot!

[identity profile] tasha-mac.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
25 - I still like the UK version better. It seems more like they're just screwing around and not trying to make themselves popular so they could have a hundred spin-off shows that inevitably fail cause they don't have a hoedown at the end.

31 - WE CAN 2 B HAVING TEH SEX TIMEZ NOW PLZKTHX???????

31 OP

*ROFLMAO*

You have out-funnied me.

43

[identity profile] gncurrier.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Let's see...Nightmare Before Christmas, Swan Princess, Moulin Rouge! (yeah!) Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Mario, and I forget what thewy called it, but the new Wizard of Oz show on Sci-Fi, ooh, it's Tinman! I want to see that...Not sure 'bout the tohers, though. Know what you mean, I talk about Broadway stuff all the time and no one but my bff knows what I'm talking about.

35

[identity profile] brittania.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
35: Same here. I used to adore HP, but lately I've been watching TOS, TNG, and Voyager, especially, and finding them to be a new, better source of that feeling. I feel bad, too, because I fell so hard for HP way back when :(

OP of #35

(Anonymous) 2007-12-24 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
I know how you feel. I sometimes feel like I'm betraying HP, if that makes any sense.

(Anonymous) 2007-12-24 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
10. Amen. Locke/Celes is just... ♥

21. Been there.

25. Meh. Can't we just agree that Ryan and Colin are awesome and ditch the rest of it?

32. Okay, there are some anatomy issues there, but in what fucking universe is that "overweight"? That's pleasantly plump, and better in that way than a lot of other stuff out there.

35. STAR TREK IS AMAZING.

40. I so need to play those someday, and soon. I totally agree with you on the soundtracks thing. Yasunori Mitsuda~

CHRONO CROSS FTMFW!

That was the first game that inspired terror in me to the point of nightmares. SWEET.

Wait, shit, you have to get involved in shipwars and wank in order to watch a show now?

No wonder I missed 3:12. :(

32
If an artist wants to improve, they need criticism. It's not a favor to withhold valuable comments.

22. I agree with you 100%. Those issues are very important IRL, but in fandom, no, I'm sorry. I just want to have fun. I UNDERSTAND that fandom affects the way we look at the world, but geez, I come to fandom to get away from all that bad stuff, I don't want to hear all this "meta" crap about how omg such-and-such perpetuates racism/anti-feminism/whatever.

My big #1 reason for hating all this "meta" discussion is because I was assaulted with it in college. "What is this?" "It's an awesome kung-fu movie." "NO IT IS NOT. IT IS A SOCIAL COMMENTARY ON THE HONG KONG HANDOVER. DO YOU SEE." "No! I see an awesome kung-fu movie!" "OMG WRITE A PAPER ABOUT HOW THIS PORTRAYS ORIENTALISM." .______. I really, really hate "looking deep" into things to find the symbolism of what the real message is. Dammit I came to see an awesome kung-fu movie.

Some people on my f-list are into meta-discussion and that's great that it's their thing and they're really gung-ho about it but it makes me want to tear my hair out and cry.

People who hate looking deep into things should skip college and go straight to McDonalds.

43. I can name a few! Let's see...Nightmare Before Christmas, Meet the Robinsons, Mythbusters, Luigi, Aladdin, Doctor Who, Alice in Wonderland, Speed Racer, Tin Man, and something in the middle that keeps reminding me of Freakazoid. :D Also, if I'm not mistaken that black and white one is tiny!Hiro from Heroes. :D

[identity profile] immortality.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
If it really was/is a doushinji, I'm glad I've never read it. I'm not a Mamoru fan, but that would kill the show for me.

20. Legend of Dragoon secret ftw! /mostly unrelated

24. ... :< For some reason, this secret is much more depressing than all those 'I hate L' secrets. I couldn't tell you why.

[identity profile] the-oxymormon.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
32. Overweight? HAHAHAHAHA.
I don't even know who that artist is either, so.
43. I can name a little over half? ;_; But omg Freakazoid. :D

32

[identity profile] halcyonjazz.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
This is speaking as someone who does not know that artist and have only been introduced to her today, so!

If you think posting crit to a secrets community anonymously rather than giving it to her as a comment or even in private, then I don't think you're really one to give crit at all. Either own up to it or move on, people are more likely to listen if they sense you're not being rude about it or have some integrity--and in case you're wondering, this displays neither.

As for the picture itself, there ARE some VERY obvious issues with anatomy that isn't automatically forgiven by style and could stand be corrected (honestly, that's a really annoying excuse I see given by fans and artists alike; stylization is an an explanation to a certain degree, but there's a line you eventually cross where it's just chalked up to plain ol' mistakes or clumsiness), but your redlining isn't very clear either, nor does it display enough (I'd have included some pointers on her neck, arm, shoulders and clothing forming on the body). A redline should also be accompanied with explanations as to why you redlined what you did in the first place (which you have for the head but lack for everything else). If you are going to provide a redline, please keep these things in mind.

Lastly, like everyone said, if that is "so overwheight it's depressing," it's your standards I think that are the most depressing.

But uhh. It's the same pairing. Just at different points in the characters' lives.

45 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-12-24 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
As I said before, I never said they aren't the same, nor is Simm!Master/Ten 'not canonical'. I simply feel that the previous sets of pairings have far more IC basis and more chemistry, where as Simm!Master/Ten felt like any flirtation was forced. Perhaps if there had been more than two bloody episodes my opinion might be different, but as is I cannot see there being much of any sort of shipping potential between the two. As a result, I feel that Delgado!Master/Three and Ainley!Master/Five are 'better'.

I know my series fairly well, I assure you. :)

I've read the manga, and seen some of the anime which wasn't that great IMO and I didn't really see the controversy.

43

[identity profile] slylilgoblin.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
43. I can't name them all, but the fact that I can see 'the Pebble and the Penguin', 'Adventure Time', 'Pete and Pete', 'Doctor Who' and 'the Cat Returns' ALL IN ONE SECRET makes me SO EXCITED!

you win. yaaay for you!

Number three, I have that same problem-- only with men. In fact, I dated one for about two years until he told me he was gay by cheating on me with a male friend of mine.

But, I feel exactly the same way. Life's a pisser. ;)

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
30. Oh Vowels. (He finds your secret unfit to be a gundam meister, btw)

I just go with /m/'s theory that he's a robot/cyborg hermaphrodite clone of Schenberg. It's an amazing theory. It has virtually no canon support, which makes it perfect.

Really, though, I'd hit that, male or female.

[identity profile] cftf.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
God I love /m/, I love that theory, and I love Vowels-chan because of it XD

10. ... how does anyone dispute the canonosity of Locke/Celes? It's THERE and WONDERFUL and dghjfjksgh ;_; I love them so much, oh my god.

22. It's been said, but fandom does not exist in a vacuum; it is not isolated from real life, because real people make fandom, and bring their issues and worldview to the table. Sometimes the discussions need to be had.

Also? For some of us, discussing that stuff IS fun.

30. I got really excited when I first saw Tieria because I thought he was going to be a kickass pilot chick. I've since adjusted, but I'm still disappointed he wasn't. If he DOES turn out to be secretly a woman, or transgendered, or hermaphrodite, or whatever, I'll be thrilled.

40. CHRONO TRIGGER WAS AWESOME. I couldn't get into Chrono Cross, though. :( (And of course everyone who knows me knows what a Final Fantasy nerd I am. XD But dude, more power to you! It's sad there's not more Chrono Trigger fandom. :( )

[identity profile] ensign-beedrill.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
35.

Star Trek is a lovely fandom. The best thing to do is just fall in; I don't think there's any other way. It's how I got started. Voyager comes on Spike TV during weekdays. (They used to have The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, but I don't know if they still do.) I believe Enterprise is on Sci Fi on Monday nights. And I'm pretty sure that G4 plays the original series and The Next Generation.
