Even my severe dislike for Amano's portrayel of Locke (I said it, I don't like it!) can't stop me from commenting on how much LOVE you earn. While by sheerest technicality they aren't canon in the original version of the game or the PS remake (they never actually declare their love for each other), it's so goddamn obvious that they like each other that I want to smack people with a cluebat when they say there's "no basis." (Sorry people, Locke just isn't gay.)

I do appreciate other main FF pairings - I'm a hardcore Tidus/Yuna shipper - but it does make me sad to see the level of denial Locke and Celes get. They've got what is probably the most unusually-balanced romance in the entire series and they both still rock.

Have a Locke wanting to kill Edgar for all your win XD

I used to watch that show constantly (admittedly I didn't know that it was a UK version as opposed to a US version.... I just knew that I liked it better before Drew.)

When it comes to this show, I'm a 'live and let live.' sort of person. As long as you like one (or both!), I'm glad to see another fan.

I pretty much grew up on Star Trek and I still love it to death. I've never dabbled in the fandom myself, but then again I never do dabble very deeply in any fandom. Still, LOVE LOVE LOVE Star Trek. And Harry Potter. But probably Star Trek more because I've fangirled it for longer and have more to fangirl over. I mean, four shows and ten movies (and an eleventh next year)? No, I don't really include Enterprise >>; Couldn't stand that show. *feels bad for not having an appropriately fangirlly icon*

Agreed to an extent. I enjoy a good discussion every once in a while, and damn will I talk your ear off about an issue in fandom if I find it pressing and relevant to my interests. But only if you invite my opinion. Otherwise, I personally find it a bit off-putting when people come into discussions, guns blazing, ready to soapbox when their little soapbox may or may not be entirely relevant to the topic at hand. I completely understand wanting fandom to be a method of escapism, and it's uncomfortable when you feel your "happy place" being infringed upon.

Ultimately: I feel like there should be a time and a place for everything, and sometimes people can come across as far too short-tempered or gung-ho in relation to a particular cause, and end up taking things too far, both in and out of fandom.

The one time I finally steeled myself into disagreeing with her about something, she went off on a tirade about "stupid Americans." I haven't said a word to her since.

I also have an issue with someone who sits there complaining about all the faves and comments she gets--which she DOES, she has more than one journal entry about it--but never does anything to change it. If she dislikes the attention, then she could, maybe, stop posting for a while? Only send her art to her friends? Turn off comments?

But no. She just keeps doing her thing, getting thousands of faves and hundreds of comments and complaining about it.

Oh geez, I had a friend like that once. She pretty much disregarded just about all of my opinions except for one particular fandom and our original RP logs in the most condescending way possible. I'm not sure she even realized that she was doing it, she just did. Believe me, you'll be better off in the long run if you just cut ties with them. No one deserves to have someone demean them like that just for having a different opinion.

14. Okay, I don't know if this is contemporary by your standards, but I LOVELOVELOVE M. Butterfly more than just about anything to grace the stages of Broadway and yet I can find no one else who loves it like I do and that shocks me. Shocks me! Are the redlines your real critique? 'Cause actually, stylistically AND anatomically the head shape you've approximated would be wrong. Not that a perfectly round shape isn't 'wrong' anatomically either, but yanno... XD;; yours just looks WRONG, whereas the circular form already present is actually an arguable stylistic choice. Don't get me wrong, I am the FIRST to call 'bullshit' when somebody chocks something weird about their art up to 'style,' but lemme tell ya, the chief differences between stylistic choice and simple mistakes are consistency and capability.
