I kinda agree...to a point. Experience helps, but not necessarily; at least authors should know what they're talking about. I hate reading fics in which sex is totally unrealistic and inaccurate. It's like with anything you haven't done or seen, you do a little homework before you go and write about it (WHOOHOO WIKI XDD). You kinda wanna know what you're talking about anyway, LOL.

Okay, it's a little provocative, but I'm seriously fed up with all the badly written sumt - and it transcends fandoms. If you know you can't write smut, ot have no experience and no too little about it - then why write it at all? There's nothing saying every fic needs a sex scene.

39 - FUCK YES. I thought I was the only one who'd read the entire series. When I saw the movie I was like, 'wait, why didn't they start with Under Sea and Over Stone?' and 'what blasphemy is this?' and 'THEY HAD BETTER GET SILVER ON THE TREE RIGHT'.
Oh god OP, I am such a spaz over this series I had actually memorized that verse in the Grey King. And the missing Sign's Bronze, correct? :D

It is awesome, isn't it? I love having the running commentary and the jokes and finding things amusing or interesting that I never would have looked twice at before.

I also understand where you're coming from on it, because I can distance myself from it and go "wow, sometimes it sounds like I should be on meds." But I think, given the fact that a lot of my writer/RP friends talk about things in similar ways, that it's par for the course. The severity depends on the person, but so long as you can always step back from things and take a good look at how you're handling your inspiration, then it isn't complete batshittery.

"The Dark Is Rising" series was so important to me growing up. I owe those books so much. I'm actually reading them again right now.

The movie made me so mad, I can't even describe it. It was beyond terrible. I've told everyone I know to read the books and to stay far, far away from the travesty that was that movie.

1- I'm the same way. At work, when someone is smoking too close to the doors of the store I'll make them go away. That unfiltered smoke will be worse for those around them. Complete turn off, but it's different with anime/manga characters.

14- Oh, how I wish he had been able to run and become President. My vote would have been for him. Reminds me a bit of that Robin Williams movie.

I agree that Sondheim > Johnny Depp (and I am a huge fan of Depp), but I think it's fantastic that Sondheim is being brought to people outside of the theatre circuit.
Yeah I'm a total elitist theatretard too, but I think films like this are important for expanding the theatre audience base--but I'm saying this as someone who wants to make a living in this industry not just as someone who loves the experience of seeing a great live show--for me anything that gets people recognizing classics and perhaps wanting to then go see it on a stage or another Sondheim musical is absolutely fantastic.

7. While I hardly ship her (except a bit with either Tosh or Ianto) I <3 Gwen. Fact. This is why I avoided TW fandom after a bit; since Ianto and Jack aren't OMG <3 to me, I got sick of it. I mean, I like them fine, love them shipped and all but... meh. Ianto is a bit boring.
