39. I read those books so long ago I don't remember much (a travesty, I know), but even just looking at the trailer made me go ".........wtfnoooo."

I bitch to my boyfriend every five minutes about this, and he hasn't even READ the books. He just saw the movie preview and thought it looked stupid.

I cried too.

That book was the first one I read, that made me want to write a screen play and make sure it was done right, so that when it was done so horribly, I just...ugh.

Wales was the best thing about that plot, so they ruined it.

But, wales didn't show up until like, the third book, i thought. anyway, yes, haven't seen the movie. won't. just thought all of it was worth mentioning to bring the luvverly fans out of hiding.

Fourth, if memory serves (I reread them recently), the Grey King is set in the area around Cader. Greenwitch is the third, that's in Cornwall, like Over Sea, Under Stone and DIR is in Buckinghamshire.

48. At the risk of sounding like I'm just repeating what other, cleverer people have said before me, doesn't that mean nobody can write about murder unless they've killed someone? Or that I, as a woman, can't write from a man's perspective 'cause I don't have a cock? Honestly, it's like the "inexperience = perceived inability to write" clause only works for sex, and that's just not right.
Maybe I'm just personally affected by this, being a virgin smut writer whose stuff has been proven to get nonvirgins all hot and bothered, who knows about the mechanics of the act, who KNOWS ABOUT FRICTION. So suck it.

For fuck's sake, it hasn't happened; 95% of everything on the net about the movie has been oldschool Sondheim fans, loving and hating it with maybe the odd person every week who's new and is INTERESTED IN THE ORIGINAL SHOW. The mythic squealing fangirls aren't allowed in anyway, won't taint you and you needn't worry about being mistaken for one of them. It's not a blockbuster and it was never intended to be.

We were all new fans once, attracted for different reasons; no need to be an elitist jerk just because it's high art.

39. YES! Even though I can barely remember the storylines of the original books, I'm still not going to touch the films with a bargepole (because honestly, I don't want yet another piece of my childhood ruined).

1. Where, where, WHERE did you get the pretty Ginko and Wolfwood fanarts?? I really agree though. Hate smoking in real life, anime characters smoking doesn't make me flinch at all, and I usually end up loving the chain-smoking characters. (Icon related, November 11=<3)

6. Yeah, it is expensive. . . If you actually do buy all the DvDs, which I don’t. (Thank God for streaming sites.) My other hobbies(I'm completly book and art obsessed) are equally as expensive anyway. I’m getting better at watching anime legally though, finally discovering the wonders of Ebay/half.com. No way am I shelling out 30 bucks for a brand new one when I can get it used and still get almost the same quality.

35. I secretly wanted to see that movie, just because of the gangsta!chipmunks and all the childhood memories. Or maybe I'm a masochist. I really, really wanted to convince my friends to go see that movie over I Am Legend. Now I never will see it. . .

39. I never saw that movie just because of the horrible abandonment of book canon, even though I’ve never read the books. Now I still need to read it, very ashamed as a fan of fantasy for having not read it. I’m really loosing faith in adaptations of my favorite fantasy books. Though Harry Potter and Narnia’s okay and Lord of the Rings was awesome, I really didn’t like what they did with the Golden Compass. Didn’t bother to see Eragon. I’m crossing my fingers for Inkheart and Twilight.

39. YES. THEY RUINED THE WHOLE SERIES. First of all, what bothers me most, is that Will is played by an AMERICAN. He's british ;__; "awesome" is a word that doesn't fit his mouth. Oh god I can't even watch the movie. It sounds so horrible to me.
