14. I still do. It's kind of sad that, out of all the candidates, he's the only one I ever really considered.

So I'm writing him in when I vote in the Primary. People may say I'm throwing my vote away...but...hey. I'm a Utah Democrat. XD It doesn't matter who I vote for.

34!

OMG 34

ME TOO.

EXCEPT FOR A WHILE IT WAS JUST "FOUR. ITCHY. TASTY."

I really don't know why I'm bothering to stay anon it's not like this is a horrendous secret ANYWAY

I've always done the 'itchy itchy scott came' and then I'll pause and finish the line, I don't add the 4 // Itchy. Tasty. most of the time, just because that makes me feel goofy (lol what)

You're not alone.

If you're worried about it, chances are you're never gonna hit Snapewife territory. The classic catch-22 is that while you can't go out and fight if you're crazy, you can't call in crazy because crazies think they're sane, isn't it? (Not saying that you're in the military. XD)

I'm pretty damn sure I'm not sane, and fucking hell, I'm happier than I've ever been having admitted that to myself! If this is being nuts, I'll take being nuts over being sane.

7. I want to like her. I really do. But she keeps doing things that make me go "AGH D:" while being praised. (I liked her in that Another Life book though. But I liked that book more than most of the series.) Anyways... I guess she's interesting, she just annoys me so I don't feel like thinking about her, but that's just me.
34. I do that too. Or at least whenever I think "Itchy, itchy D:" I then think "Well at least I'm not hungry too :D"

12. Road Rovers! I loved that show! Too bad it only lasted a season or so. :<

14. I doubt I would have voted for him (okay maybe I would), but it's a sad commentary on our government if people think he's a better option than most of the people seriously running.

[identity profile] kiyuu.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
27: Sweeney Todd ftw!

I'm a bit peeved people just assume that others are so in love with it because of the new movie. I mean, I'm in no way disrespecting the movie((in fact, I think it's amazing and I love Tim Burton even more because of how good it was)), but people have to realize that there were a ton of fans of this loooong ago. D: Sigh.

[identity profile] threepwillow.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
You've summed up what I think about it, basically. My first reaction walking out of the film was "Damn, now I want to see the show even more!" My second was "damn, not I really want to play Mrs. Lovett."

39: The Dark is Rising is a movie now. O_O How come I never knew about this? I should be paying more attention to the fandom. o_o And I agree with the whole reading the book thing. I loved the book. I'm sad that you say that the movie's bad (though I'll probably check it out anyway. >_>).

34

[identity profile] policing.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
OMG I'm not the only one! D: Only I usually don't actually say it. Just think it, because I dislike being stared at.

Thirty-nine

[identity profile] auraunda.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
When the Dark is rising, six shall turn it back
Three from the circle, three from the track
Wood, bronze, iron, water, fire, stone
Five will return and one go alone

Iron for the birthday, bronze carried long
Wood from the burning, stone out of song
Fire in the candlering, water from the thaw
Six signs the circle, and the Grail gone before

Fire on the mountain shall find the harp of gold
Played to wake the sleepers, oldest of the old
Power from the Greenwitch, lost beneath the sea
All shall find the Light at last, silver on the tree

Yes.

That's all from memory.

I flatly refuse to see that movie and any sequels.

12. .... THERE'S A FANDOM?

19. Your parents are possibly some of the most awesome people on the planet. However, I personally never got into DQ because I tried (twice) and found it boring. =/ oh well.

23. "WIll I wind up robbing a bank somewhere in nothing but diving flippers and a moose hat, yelling madly about the coming revolution?"

I laughed. So hard. I think I like you, secret maker. ♥ Stop worrying. I hear that happens a lot to authors with their own characters; I figure it could happen with any character you got attached enough to. I don't think you're batshit insane, though it is on the outer extremity of what it means to have a "muse" in normal terms. (not that anyone uses the word actually correctly, but.) I'd only worry about it if it starts to affect your daily life in a negative and noticeable manner; then you would have a problem. If it worries you a lot, find someone to talk to about it (though I know that can be hard). And good luck! ♥

35. My childhood is crying tears of blood, thank you.

50. LOL PURG. dhklfja hahaha omg. hey, it was fun for a while. but then I left 8D so I can't really talk.

Now I have to dig out my VCR so I can watch that movie again. And forget the existence of the new chipmunks who are actually chipmunks.

[identity profile] xanykaos.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
27. To be fair, I liked her fine. I still sorta like her. She just scares the pants off me now. She's completely bat***ing insane, and she's got one of the few character traits that I truly, truly hate--that is, being the character who tries to apply "good and nice" morals to everyone else, and initially seems like the voice of reason, but then it turns out that these morals and decencies don't actually apply to her. The scene where she drugged Reese(?)...yeah, that did it for me. Oh, I think it makes her a fascinating character, and I can't wait to see what series 2 brings, but I also think she's a scary psycho, and I want her to get off the fence about it.

25. Yay! SiP secrets! I maintain that my best mate and me are pretty much a lot like Katchoo and Francine, only platonic. But then, I'm not quite as psycho as Katchoo, and my friend isn't as doormat as Francine. Either way, it's one of the best comics out there. Ever.

27. Whine some more. Go see the stupid movie and ignore the fangirls. It's hard, I'm sure. But it's still a very well-done movie that does good justice to the play.

35. Seeing Simon, the nerdy smart one, decked out like a gangsta rapper makes me too sad to even think of seeing the movie or hearing the music. I want my childhood back, please.

41. Siblicest on it's own is awful and wrong enough. Inflicting siblicest on something pure, childlike, and, well, let's be honest, Christian as Narnia just seems like spitting in the face of everything Narnia stood for. Sorry that there were no other humans but the siblings in the movie. That doesn't mean they need to be shipped. Ugh. The worst thing about (an otherwise fantastic) movie was what the fans did afterwards.

45. I don't suppose Zoe from Firefly counts, since she was one of a crew of, what, nine equally important characters? Nevermind that she PWNed like mad.

47, 49. Who are these?

I tried reading the first book, but I couldn't get through it. It didn't intrigue me. My friend, who loves the series, told me to read one of the others (she prefers books 3 and 5, if I remember correctly) but I wasn't interested. Even if they are better, I think I'd rather read a series that really pulls me in rather than working through it.

Unlike most people, I'm excited about the movie though. Then again, that might have something to do with the fact that I don't have a bias for the novel. This is probably going to a "LotR" deal for me... I didn't like the books but I loved the movie(s). Sorry, folks.

You're very right, and I'm sorry you have to deal with real addiction in your family. The portrayal of House's "addiction" has bothered me from the start. House isn't an addict: he's dependent on painkillers. This is not a bad or wrong thing - I'm dependent on my thyroid hormone medication to stop me getting thyroid growths and possibly cancer again, but that doesn't make me an addict. House depends on painkillers to kill his pain - doesn't make him an addict.

Also, Vicodin is a stupid drug for them to choose as his main "addiction". He shouldn't be taking more than 8 a day or he'll destroy his liver over time (because of the paracetamol/acetaminophen, not because of the opiates). There's plenty of other more appropriate painkillers available for chronic pain, maybe with Vicodin for breakthrough pain. Wilson, in particular, would know this. Every time they have a storyline involving House's "addiction", it drives me mental.

Re: 37

(Anonymous) 2007-12-29 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
The whole thing about House's "addiction" being something that Needs To Stop strikes me as being war-on-drugs propaganda. :/ But the last time I tried to explain this (politely) to another House fan, I got told that I should shut up and stop criticizing the writers because I knew nothing about what addiction is really like. uh.

I used to really like the show. The Tritter arc killed it dead for me, although I kept watching afterwards because...of fannish inertia, I guess. I didn't find out until recently how poor a choice Vicodin was for House's drug (because of the aforementioned liver issue), but I always thought the "addiction" issue was handled badly.

[identity profile] wao.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
9: I think there's absolutely nothing wrong in liking it! I find it captures my heart a lot as well - I do like relatively straightforward things like Guts/Casca but the delicate relationship between Serpico and Farnese is one of the best things about Berserk to me. It's what makes those characters come alive.
koyuki: ([loveless] argh you suck *hiss*)

[personal profile] koyuki 2007-12-29 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
7. Honestly? I think Gwen might just be "more interesting" because Torchwood (the series) pretty much revolves around her. None of the characters have gotten half as much back-story as she has, and uh, that generally helps add depth to a character. :'D

Sorry, but I'm also on the I-Don't-Like-Gwen side. I respect that you like her, but you know, sometimes I wish people would respect that I dislike a character too.

...and I don't ship Jack with anyone.

8. She broke my heart. ;_; I'd be cheering for Dani too. (And I felt stupid whenever I overheard schoolmates talking about the show, because uh, I'm totally not the type to watch it. DX)

14. Quite honestly, I think he would make a great president. He clearly thinks about the issues and knows how absurd politics is. Which is why I'm glad he dropped out. I didn't want him to get tainted with it. He's too good for politics. (If he stayed, I would've voted for him though. XD)

7 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-12-29 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, I respect that you dislike her, I'm not trying to force anyone. D: I was just stating that it's pretty depressing to see Gwen bashing on every Torchwood forum or community I visit.

Anyways, I guess it's a matter of taste. Even if Ianto, Tosh and Owen got more screentime, I think I would end up prefering her.

[identity profile] leafing.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
#27: I like the way you think.

#23: I wouldn't try to feel too bothered about it until they start telling you to burn things.

[identity profile] anogete.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
21 - I consider myself somewhat of a music snob, and I like them. If people give you shit for liking them, then who cares. Right? I like loads of bands that many people say are crap, but that doesn't stop me from liking them. I just act like those haters don't "get it". Then they get all paranoid that I know something they don't. All the indie kids an musical elitist get really weirded out when you question their taste.

Anyway, I like their second album the best, but I've not heard much of the third. Just a single on the radio. Their first album is also good, but very (very) different than their latest offering.

I don't know anything about bandom, but I have heard that MCR bandom has some serious wank in it. Don't know that firsthand, though.

(Anonymous) 2007-12-29 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
i listen to a pretty wide range of stuff, so i like to be open about what other people listen to. if it's not my cup of tea, then whatever, i try not to rag on people. it just gets really old. actually, if i think about it, my secret is probably more that i think i'd get along with them XD;

my best description of their third cd is it's a bit more epic. the second was, from what i understand, jumbled. it was good, but the third has an actual story arc to it, if you care to know about it that is. the very very differentness is why i'm kinda afraid of the first cd really. (that and the "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us" vid freaks me out)

bandom in general tends to be wanky depending on where you are. i wouldn't say MCR is overly wanky, but i honestly stay on the sidelines. i pretty much poke at some AU fic and that's really it. though the on going rumours about who married who can be fun if you don't actually care.
