Was there ever so much wank about the equal love mods for DA:O? I don't think there was, why is this the one everyone wants to throw a hissy fit about?

I think because she's a tough warrior-woman who is straight, and some people are pissy about the mod becuse they wanted a straight character who is "butch" or something.

Honestly at this point, and with all the wank, I preferred the "playersexual" option.

There was nowhere near this much wank with DAO's equal love mods. I think this wank has a lot to do with fallout over the DA2 love interests and the fact that "set" sexualities was a selling point for DAI love interests.

Plus, there's currently a massive amount of pushback against "sjws" and basically anything that can remotely be used as ammunition against "sjws" will be used as ammunition.

Long story short. Person publishes bi!Cass mod, some people get angry because they feel that's against Cassandra's character, also equating bi!Cass to bi!Dorian in terms of awfulness and character assassination, they bully mod-maker out of tumblr, things explode, there's screaming everywhere.

I was expecting a shitstorm once someone modded Dorian or Sera, but I was surprised people hated so much on a bi Cass mod, considering how she seemed to have a lot of passionate queer fans. Not to mention, a lot of people weren't happy with the lesbian romances.

It was cool seeing Bioware developers condemning the people hating on it.

What I'm finding extremely questionable that the people who raised the biggest stink about it (like, comparing the mod to rape kind of stink) have said nothing re: the bi Dorian mod that was recently uploaded.

DA fandom always finds new ways to surprise me with their blatant bullshit.

I don't use mods (I have nothing against them, I just don't bother) but I see no reason why people should raise such a big stink over this. People need to chill out.

Personally, I would've loved to romance Cass as a woman (and was quite sad when I realized that wasn't possible) and aren't surprised there are others out there that wanted to.

Are people freaking out about Cullen/Dorian fanfic, or Cass/f!Inquisitor? (Though I haven't seen much Cass/f!Inquisitor, or read Cullen/Dorian.) I did see one post complaining about Cass/f!Inquisitor fanart but I just scrolled on by.

I haven't seen much complaining about either Dorian/Cullen (just people who aren't interested in it) or Cass/F!Inq, but then again I haven't been looking. I'm sure they're out there.

I think people feel fanfics/arts are somewhat more okay than mods, because they are away from the actual game and not in any shape or form canon, while mods are changing the actual in-game sexualities.

I definitely don't see people freaking out over Cullen/Dorian (or any of the other myriad of M/M Cullen ships) the way they freak out over F/F Cassandra ships. Wish I knew why Cass fans were so invested in her straightness...

The one hilarious part was when David Gaider (who wrote Cassandra, Dorian, and others) asked what was the big deal with the bi mods on Twitter and people had the nerve to tell him that it was insulting to those who made the game. He wasn't insulted - who wouldn't see how ridiculous it is to tell him that he should be?

The game is genuinely really good and fun, and I say that as somebody who'd nearly given up on the series after 2. It's definitely worth a try...it does not at all deserve its terrible fandom.

It makes me sad when people who wanted to play the game are put off by the fandom. It's really an amazing game, and my advice is to try and ignore the fandom (I'm on tumblr but I have personally never encountered the wank unless I was looking for it, it is doable) and give it a chance.
