33. Heh. That's pretty funny that a BSG secret is #33. I don't really understand what you're talking about though. She's like your imaginary friend or something :/ ??

37. i have a whole folder for koiwai/jumbo porn. ]': (i love it.)
47. this ship is the only reason i want to play the game. i've seen it EVERYWHERE and i want to know what all the fuss is about.

4. I... don't know what to say to that, so I'll go off on this tangent about Axel, the Germanic name, being very lovely and pleasing to the ear and meaning something like Father of Peace (lol incongruous). And all the while knowing that, I will purposefully mispronounce a person's name at the first meeting anyway, even if he gets annoyed and corrects me :P

6. I kind of want the student council from Princess Princess.

9. Sometimes we splice in a girl or two. You know. Just because. Axel.

20. Ah, the gift of hindsight.

38. THIS WINS EVERYTHING, DAW.

I always justified it to myself by saying that he was bringing about peace in his own way-- by killing everybody else.

I can't remember and time when I was'nt watching AYBS, and I was born in '83. I've always been a Mr. Humphries fangirl, so much so that I always thought he was just a sweet guy who liked to wear fur ;). I think his story was a big reason I actually liked the 2nd series with the hotel :3

[identity profile] misscherri.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
5. Wow.

[identity profile] fattastik.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
1. I HAVE HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME. I went to get a book then leave the store but some crazy fangirl stopped me and started talking and wouldn't leave me alone, then all really pissed off and said I wasn't a true anime fan because I had no idea what series she started blabbering about.

Also. Helllllllllllllllllllooooo, there ARE chairs strewn around the store, and the cafe is there with tables and chairs too. Why must people sit all over the aisles? And a lot don't move when you ask them to.

[identity profile] flyingmhe.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
45. Oh God, I couldn't even watch Haruhi the eyes scared me so much! Dx

[identity profile] savioto.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
1. I hate buying/reading manga in public because people seem to have a constant need to comment on it. Once while I was buying a volume of Digimon this older guy came up to me and started talking to me about how I was wasting my money on it and there's way better manga out there and I was just like "uh...... okay?" and went up and bought it anyway. I've never met the opposite kind of fanatic in a bookstore, though.

17. I'm more bothered by his weird-looking stomach, to be honest.

22. You and half the Internet, really. Why is this even a secret?

45. I agree. This is why I don't like Lucky Star. I've never actually watched it, but the faces just creep me the fuck out.

RE: 1

[identity profile] suriyawong.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
This reminds me of the occasions when I've been reading comic books/manga on the bus and some guy will sit next to me and ask me about it. The first time it happened, he seemed insulted that someone would dare read such lowbrow vulgarity in public. The second time, I was reading Ode to Kirihito and the guy asked me if the entire book(~800 pages) was pictures. He kept looking over out of the corner of his eye and making faces.

18. ......OH MY GOD I USED TO WATCH THAT SHOW RELIGIOUSLY DDD: Those two were my favorites, as well as Mrs. Slocombe's technicolor dreamhair ♥

22. Congratulations. \o/ This room is full of people who care. (http://www.subcentral.ch/images/history/010117-raum_leer.jpg)

Ha ha, I always have some slight dread whenever I go check out the manga section of a bookstore. Whenever it's empty, I heave a heavy sigh of relief, but quickly find whatever it is I want to buy/read/check out and get out of there as soon as I can. There have been times where I go in, pick up a book and start reading it there (usually standing, because I hate being one of those people who sit on the floor), and one of those hyper, energetic fans (more often than not girls) come in and squeal their head out at the sight of the newest release of so-and-so manga and start chittering away with a friend of theirs. It's annoying, it's hilarious, it's embarasing, it's just so many things. Thankfully I've never had someone approach me about whatever I pick out. That would be so awkward. D:

You don't know how happy I was when I noticed lots of bookstores I visit (specifically Borders) has started to enforce a rule about not sitting in the isles. I agree about the hazards and all, but secretly, I enjoy being able to know I can browse through the manga section without having to walk as if i'm trying to avoid a land mine.

[identity profile] green-tea-river.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
5.) Just... lol.

[identity profile] kimchiburger.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
1. Eh heh, guilty. Though we only do it because it's a post-finals tradition where we sit in the aisle and talk (most of my friends don't even read manga) BUT we also help out/move whenever people wanted to check something out.

However, I find myself disliking anime/manga fans outside of my group of friends. They tend to weird me out or make me want to facepalm because they assume that they can wow me with their vast knowledge of all things weeaboo. Yes I know Kira was meant to sound like "killer" and that the "r" sounds like an "l" or what the fucking ever. I'm looking at you random girl at the DVD section!

I do find "otaku" boys and grown men reading things like Pita Ten in the aisle to be... a bit disturbing.

16: I don't know why, but I find this hysterically funny.

Hell is the two of them upstaging each other for all eternity, lolol.

45: Why do you think people fall all over themselves for it? :|

I do too. The worst part is that I now cry whenever I hear Keigo from Bleach speak.

KAMINA WHY

i love your non-anime totally hilarious icon.
I'm sad i don't watch bleach, cause that means i ahve nothing to say other than Icon L0VE

33

[identity profile] brittania.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Bratty? I don't think I'd characterize Starbuck as bratty. Cocky, perhaps, in the first season, and perhaps without her priorities where they should be (but whose are, after the apolocalypse?), but never bratty. Especially not after 'Maelstrom', and onward.

[identity profile] chibkyo.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
1. I used to have that problem, too, but now I just don't care. Be bold! Smack a bitch if you need to.

7. It sounds like you two are just going to have to agree to disagree.

26. WANT.

30. ....I think you might be missing the point of Tyzula. And Dumbledore/McGonagall. And...yeah.

41. Not just fandom. Believe me.

47

[identity profile] asrimal.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
FUCK YEAH LINEBECK

[identity profile] ellyrianna.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
1. I don't go into the manga aisle anymore because it embarasses me. I find it impossible to be an intelligent anime fan; if you like anime, at least where I live, by default you are assumed to be an idiotic fanbrat.

[identity profile] pimmy.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
1. wow, lotsa people seem to have that trouble!

i've only ever met friendly people there, lol XD though maybe cus almost no one ever is there anyway.
sammywhatammy: (applause)

I LOL'd so much. I think I love you, OP xD

[identity profile] friendshipbeam.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
1) Aw, we're not that bad! I actually admit I'm the first kind of fan. When I'm in the store, I want to see people pick up something I know and go on and on about it. When someone responds, I feel all happy inside. ^^' So sorry for that being scary to you instead of cool.
6) Me too! I wish I was on an awesome student council. I didn't even get to be on the normal kind for more than a year, but still.
9) XDDDD YES. SO TRUE.
13) Which magical girl series? Now you've got me curious.
17) The body hair thing to me is disgusting, even in real life, but that picture... well, it looks like he's wearing silly string.
22) Uh... you're probably a troll, submitting that here. But seriously, why do you have such a grudge against a medium? A genre I can understand - I'm not a fan of horror (I barely sat through Higurashi, and only because my friends made me), for one - but hating a medium just shows shades of either Jack Thompson-like fanatics or those clueless newspaper writers and parents that insist upon sticking to only the norm.
26) IAWTS. Although the novels have been hinting more and more that Mikuru's subservience is just an act, she still put me off more than Haruhi, even with everything the latter does for her own amusement.
29) XD Well, people like certain things. I knew a guy that only liked green-haired lolis.
30) Azula and anyone is unhealthy, just because she's probably very poisonous to be around. But your rationale was amusing. XD
41) N00b fangirls/boys of anything are annoying. Especially those that can't spell and say stuff like that.
45) I don't see that style as soulless, I see it as deeply soulful. That's why I love stuff like Key.

[identity profile] crackjaw.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
45. Moe isn't a genre, it's an art style. Key is moe, yes. But so is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
