29. THIS IS NOT MY SECRET OH MY GOD. People who have heard me talk about the new designs, I swear, bb, not my secret. ._.

I do like Suzaku. He's not one of my favourite characters, though. And I've always found him okay looking enough but I don't go "unf unf" at him repeatedly the way I do other characters (most of which have capes oh god why do I have such a cape fetish?). But if he wears that cape for much of the second season I will be UNF UNF-ing my screen so hard.

1. Here's a thought. Next time you pick up a manga and some squeeing fanbrat starts babbling to you, don't just get angry. Instead, put on your friendliest smile and explain to them that they're making a bad first impression, and that even though you're really happy too that other people like your fandoms, there's better ways to approach people about it. Tell them not everyone has the time, passion, or desire to engage in random conversation with people just because they like the same books. Because what you're doing right now is just as wrong as what they're doing; THEY may look idiotic in reaching out and wanting to share their love for fandom, but YOU are ruining something that's very important to them by acting nasty towards them. They're being nice, you're being a cock. If someone "goes on and on" there is more than one way to get them to shut up; to be precise, the nice way (that will help them socially for the rest of their lives) and the not-nice way (being nasty to them just because they like a comic book).

(And no, I'm not being condescending. I was a squeeing rambling-to-strangers fanbrat for many years; it's not fun to think back on, and I wish someone somewhere along the line had explained to me I was doing it wrong.)


And if someone openly criticizes you for the manga you read, there's a very very easy solution for that as well: tell them to fuck off.

God I just got home from work. This is not a good time for me to see this. XD But!

...as a bookseller, I really really hate it when people just sit in the aisle and read manga. The section I'm in charge of includes graphic novels/manga, and I don't sell jack shit out of there because people just sit around and read it all day. (As far as manga sections go, I have like... zero shelf space anyway. It's a royal pain in the ass having to go through and get rid of stuff that hasn't sold in at least two months just so I can shelve the five newest volumes of freaking Naruto.) Not only that, but they are in my way. It's not a very big space, and I have displays I need to change, and books I need to shelve. Seriously? I work eight hours a day, and there are people who just sit there on the floor and are there longer than I am. Jesus people, I may not have a life, but at least I don't spend my time pissing off retail workers.

Besides, why anyone would ever want to sit on our floor is beyond me. Our carpet is nasty. You should see what it does to the knees of my khakis.

And as for the people who have to make commentary on every manga in the section, or every manga they see someone pick up? I'm pretty sure the store at large does not care. I'm pretty sure the people you're talking to don't care. The bookseller shelving books nearby? Really doesn't care, even if she does read manga.
