I can't say I did that with every episode of season 3, maybe the odd passing thought? But I certainally did take a moment or two to ponder the circumstances of Human Nature/The Family of Blood if Rose had still been around. I wondered if human!Doctor would of still fallen in love with Joan considering the woman of his dreams (literally) would have been right there in front of him. Shipper preferences aside I think the human!Doctor would of been quite side tracked by his "perfect Rose" as he put it.

Exactly!

[identity profile] karma-kalisutah.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Which, of course, would have ruined the story.

I liked Rose. A lot. But I get how this show works.

Secrets like this make me wish that Freema had been cast before Billie and that Martha preceded Rose in the series, because it makes me so sad that people are still clinging to their love of Rose and using it as an excuse to dislike Martha who is equally as brilliant. :(

The Who fandom is fluid and everchanging. Maybe some people aren't able to move on as quickly as others but Martha and Donna are the present and future. The return of Rose is something I'm highly dubious about because I thought her story was perfect and had an amazing ending. Off on a tangent there but w/e.

The Who fandom is fluid and everchanging.

QFT. I loved Rose, but I don't miss her. At least, not too horribly. And Martha's there, and she's fantastic too! As is Donna! I can't help but feel that the fans that are clinging to Rose and refuse to let go have sort of missed the entire point. I mean, it's only what every single episode of season two was about.

It's supposed to hurt, but then you move on. Change or die. Pay attention.

[identity profile] flutingfrenzy.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
9. So damn cute. And so true. (Although in my case, there are also a couple girls I do that for.)

22. Hee! I love the minimalism. Also, the undertone of frustration.

28. As it turns out, people on the internet who don't like Harry Potter are actually in the minority. You may have just outed yourself. :(

41. I always assume people who type like that are eleven years old. I'm not trying to be judgmental or anything; it just doesn't occur to me that they might be older.

Then sometimes I find out they're older than me, and it's depressing.

[identity profile] spiletta42.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Um, is there another reason to watch that which I'm possibly missing?

[identity profile] arcadiaego.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
18: I'll be in a fandom with you!

44: Yeah, me too.

44.

[identity profile] julian-black.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
[blinks]

You mean there are people who watch it for any other reason? Huh?

3, 38

[identity profile] infinite-beauty.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
3: Jekyll is love. James Nesbitt did an amazing job and damn, Hyde was hot. Agreed, agreed, agreed/

38: I didn't ship them in the movie that much, but in the book? With all of Fezzik and Inigo's promising never to leave each other and wishing constantly that Vizzini was there? OT3 all the way. :D

[identity profile] leafing.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
I always try to make a point of going there when there are a lot of people because I do kind of wish they'd talk to me. And, well, sometimes if I hear people talking to each other and one asks a question that the other can't answer, I answer it for them.

Now I feel kind of guilty that I'm part of the problem.

Re: 1

[identity profile] suriyawong.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
It really depends on your approach. I was having a conversation about arcade games with the employee of a video game/comic book store as I was picking up my comics last week, and when neither of us knew the specifics of some light gun game she'd mentioned, someone interrupted us with a lot of unnecessary detail as we were about to change the subject. He seemed like he was trying really hard to join the discussion. It was kind of painful. Afterward he went back to shouting at the arcade cabinet he was playing.

B-but I'm sure you're nothing like that.

45. Am I the only one that actually likes that particular art style? Seriously, I think it's cute. I wanna kidnap those girls, and take them to some place where the cops would find us drinking tea, baking cookies and making teddy bears. <3

[identity profile] somatosensation.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Are you an advanced AI that runs experiments on living human beings because you were designed to do so?

Were you destroyed physically by one of the test subjects because you tried to kill her?

Are you superior to her because you're a machine with the ability to back up your data to a data base that can, by all counts, last longer than most humans are allowed to live?

Then this song should not apply to you in anyway.

[identity profile] crackjaw.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hey man, nobody's a robot. They were probably thinking it applies symbolically.

But then, I've never heard the song, so I wouldn't know.

1. I'm always judgmental of the manga I see people picking up(mostly, I'm judgmental of everything everyone does, ever, because I am a judgmental prick who is always passing judgment, durr hurr), but I never give my comments to them because I hate talking to manga fans I don't know(LJ being an exception, of course ILU GUISE FOR REALS D:). I used to got to an anime club where you could pick out nearly every stereotype associated with otaku. And the smell.

Argh, I posted the first "I ship it" secret for Link and Linebeck here during the summer after beating the Japanese version of the game. I didn't realize the pairing would be so popular. I feel sort of ashamed now.

1. Comic Book shops, while full of fans, tend to be a nice place to purchase from. It's been my experience that if you want to join into a conversation - you're welcome to at the check out counter or gaming table in the back. But if you just want to quietly pick out your book and leave or flip through a book - you're welcome to do that too. Most people won't hover in front of a book case and read an entire book there, the shop keepers are a little more strict in that sense. And the most interaction I get is the rather friendly comic shop owner wandering over to me and suggesting books he thinks I'd like. Though usually they pick up on whether you like to chat or not and promptly leave you be if you express no interest in talking.

(Worst case scenario - and this has only happened to me once out of quite a few times - there will be a pretentious comic snob (usually one of the people at the register) making a comment about your selection. In that case you can let them know that you'll do your future shopping at another book store if they don't think you should spend your money at their store. S'what I did.)

IN ANY CASE. Support your local comic shop. They're (usually) nice... and more than likely need the support.

13- I wanna know the anime fandom now...

22-Your loss. Anyone who dismisses a whole medium is missing something.

34- I shipped them from the previews. But they weren't enough to get me to watch the movie.

41- I agree with your point, however, that's by no means limited to anime/manga fans.

45- At least you knew enough to eel guilty about it.

It's funny, when I was younger, I hated Tifa because of her outfit--people used to compare her to me because of the martial arts and appearance, but when I saw what she wore, I was infuriated because no one would have ever taken me seriously if I had worn that.

I still think it's a dreadful, ridiculous outfit, but now that I'm older, I realize it's kinda retarded to hate a fictional character. Maybe your friend will eventually get to that point as well.

Tifa made a big mistake, sure, and yes, Cloud--being as fucked up as he is, is a lot better off with Aerith--but come on, Tifa's not someone to be hated. I feel bad for her--unrequited love + parenting duties + running a business on your own? Geez, this lady deserves some happiness too!

I would ♥ Squeenix forever if they hooked Tifa up with Reno. Just for the lulz--come on, can you see it? Reno babysitting? Y, PLZ. XD

18 - I'm right here~ I adored this show so much in my youth--I believe it was my first Britcom, even! My mum actually let me stay up late to watch it, even with school the next day, and since my mother and I don't get along as much now, it is a cherished memory. ^_^ I adored the entire cast, and was sad when Mr. Lucas was replaced. Mr. Humphries was my absolute favorite though--this show was the reason I started reading even more books so that I'd get all the slang and such. XD

Mrs. Slocombe's pussies. LOL. XD

oh man especially when sam is dressed like a woman
yes

27. :(
I'm not criticizing you or anything here (it doesn't bother me when people dislike rossiu) but the mass fandom hate--people never see imperfection as making a good character any more. For me, the more faggotry caused by the character/flaws he or she has the better ahahha

29. CAPES and yes see response to 27 too, because Suzaku is pretty much the Rossiu of Code Geass :(
the running on the walls part is what made me like him i'm not kidding

46. I have one of those sitting on my desk
show me your smut please i want to read it so
so
bad

47. We need a community or something for this seriously
I actually like telling irl friends when I like something "weird" like Link/Linebeck because it just makes them so confused
I drew it in an isketch with like three guys in it, the hilarity was grand
and one of them is pretty gay so he asked me to draw more
