If you know someone who is playing this game too much to the point of being unhealthy, and you care about them, and all the effort you can muster is to bitch about the game in secret, you don't love them enough. Period. Rip the fucking internet cord out of the wall if you have to. Do an intervention. It's not the game, it's the person.

Yes, I play WoW. Yes, I do play a good bit. But I still go to work, I take baths, I pay my bills, I see my family, I love on my boyfriend-almost-fiancee (who I wouldn't have met if it wasn't for WoW thank you very much). Honestly, I would have stopped playing this grindfest years ago if it wasn't for RP, and if I'm playing a game for RP, I don't see it any differently than people that play in 413410511 LJ RPGs.

The heroin didn't leap out of the needle and accidentally turn the person into an addict, and you shouldn't be sitting there glaring at the needle. You should be helping the person.

That being said...

34 - It is totally the opposite on my server. Darknest has infested Alliance-side and they're nothing but copulating bunnies over there. I do play belfs, but we have pretty good RP. And if you want to "get into it", just roll up a belf and go to SMC! If the RPers on your realm are such douchebags that they won't RP with a random person, drop me a line and you can come RP on my realm. :T

I find it interesting that most often when people respond negatively to my secret, it's because 'all I'm doing is bitching.' What evidence do you have that tells you that this is all I'm doing? Do I at any point in my secret say 'and I have given up on helping said friends?' I also find it interesting that these same people are saying, essentially, 'I play WoW and am totally normal!' Good for you. However, I have said it before and I will say it again: YOU may drink responsibly, but that does not mean that alcoholics do not exist.

1. OMFG I LOL'D SO HARD. That is several layers of AWESOME!!!!! :D (I'd go to the ATEM bank any day~~~~~) Man, I really wanna create this place now. 28. I totally agree with this one. My brother has stolen money from my parents for MMOs. :| I mean, uh, DUH GUYS, NOT EVERYONE THAT PLAYS IS AN ADDICT LOL--not everyone that drinks is an alcoholic, etc.--but I've known quuuuite a few people whose brains were sucked dry by an MMO.
